Hi! My name is Scott, and I am an overweight stay at home Dad. You'd think with running around after the kids I'd lose weight, but the opposite is true. I hardly have time to cook, so me and the kids eat a lot of fast food or frozen meals from the grocery store. Hoping to get some inspiration and advice.

Hi, Scott & welcome to the forum. The answer to your question is in your opening paragraph I'm afraid. Fast food & processed food. Not only is it the problem for now with your weight, but it is also setting your kids up for the same problem in the future. I don't know how old your kids are but fresh fruit & raw vegetables take up little time preparing& are nutritious & delicious. It's your Summer now, but even in our Winter a lot of our "diet" is raw veggies & fruit. Think of it as an investment in their future. Cooking doesn't have to take much time & it could become something you do with the kids. So many kids now have no idea about nutrition or how to look after themselves properly.
I just googled "a cookbook to teach dads to cook for their kids" & there are so many good sounding books. Steer clear of the cookie ones though :)
You can do this Scott, but I think real food will be the best option & walks & picnics in the park might be fun too. Cheers, Cate.
