just planning to lose some weight

hello there,

this is waleed, a guy who has just plan to lose weight, although i was fit in my early days but then i gained weight. Now i have gained a lot of weight and have decided to cut fat from my body.
What to do ? how to achieve this goal.......what i have heard is that you need balanced diet and workout schedule .

please suggest me easy workouts that are doable at home and diet plan accordingly ......

A good start would be to start walking - that is a brilliant basic exercise to get going and suitable for all shapes and sizes. I wear a pedometer all day long every day and suggest that you do this too.

For food, a good start would be to ensure that you are eating enough fruit and veg, and protein - and maybe cutting down on sweets and biscuits, pastry, cake etc - also cutting down on alcohol which is a waste of calories too.

There are sections on the forum on exercise and nutrition - so I suggest you browse those - especially sticky threads.

I am setting up some challenges which may help motivate you towards walking and sticking to some basic nutrition rules.
