Just needing some advice

hey guys,

I am 23yrs old. I work in EMS and am in school full time working to get my Paramedic and my Associates Degree. I planned to go into the Army a couple years ago and was 8 lbs away from being at my weight after working hard and losing 30 lbs to be able to enlist. I am now wanting to enlist again but now weigh 250 lbs at 5'5". I need to lose 80 lbs now to meet my weight requirements. I was never over 200 lbs before and losing the 30 lbs before was done very unhealthy and I gained a lot of it back in a short period of time.
I am not in good shape and I know I need to eat different and change my life.
Any advice/help would be much appreciated.
Any meal plans or ways of eating that helped you to lose weight? (Preferably not vegan/vegetarian.)
Any workouts or exercise routines that may be helpful?
Will take anything at this point.

Thank you all so much,
Kris

For me personally, it is boring and overwhelming to count all my calories and record everything I eat. I focused on learning what carbs were and cut out completely the ones I could, and am very aware of the ones I wanted to limit. I added 4 workouts a week of walking on an incline (treadmill) for 45 min each workout. Slowly, lost some weight and I don't have to think about it 24/7. I feel amazing! I do need to lose at least 15 more, and maintain it for a lifetime... so I've got a ways to go. :)
