Hi there. My name is Sally and I think this is a really great support group you have going on here and I'm happy I can be a part of it. I have four kids, all girls, my youngest being only six weeks old. I had my kids only a year apart and never really lost weight from the baby I had a year ago so now I have to work extra hard and extra long to get this weight off before summer, and before my brothers wedding because I'm a bridesmaid. After I had my baby I weighed 279 pounds. I gained 100 ponds in the last 2 years and I have been miserable. I've been working hard the last month though and am down to 235 and needless to say I feel a lot better but I still have my work cut out for me. I have a goal to be down to 175 by the end of June which I think is possible but it's going to take some doing. For the first month I was on that yucky grapefruit diet and stuck to it faithfully with no exercise due to the fact that I was recovering from a c-section, not to mention that with all these kids running around I haven't had much time. The last couple weeks I haven't really followed any sort of diet except that I don't eat carbs. My problem is that I really have no appetite. It doesn't bother me but I worry I won't lose weight that way. For instance today, I only ate 2 boiled eggs and 2 strips of bacon. I constantly drink water, at least a gallon a day so thats good. I just can't seem to force food down my throat anymore. I try but nothing in the whole world sounds good. Is it okay and will it be effective if I only eat when I'm hungry??? Please help. I look forward to being a part of your community.

Welcome silly sally. Its suggested that you eat every 3 hours, however I myself only eat when I'm hungry. I eat less calories and I've been losing weight too, and saving $ on food. Keep chaseing those little ones around and you'll be a toothpick in no time!

small meals

Do you think it matters if one or two of the small six meals you eat each day is just a carrot or piece of celery or tomato juice? Because I just can't stomach much of anything lately. I thought it was just some sort of phase but this nonapetite has been going on for awhile though. It doesnt bother me but I'm scared the weight loss is just going to stop suddenly. Do you think I am in danger of that or should I be okay. I get a little more exercise now but most of the exercise I get is taking care of my house and it seems I'm constantly moving morning until night doing just that.

I'm really not sure if it matters. I too haven't had much of an appetite after I stopped eating garbage, which was just fueling my eating habits for taste, not hunger. To be honest, I can't even remember the last time I was truely, genuinely hungry, because I just ate anyways and haven't experienced real hunger in a couple years. But I think its better to eat a carrot or something instead of eating nothing at all, just to have something for your body to digest. So I give it 2 thumbs up.

However, if you are not eating because it makes you feel sick, that may be a sign of a medical condition that you need to see a doctor for. My aunt had the same symptoms years ago that persisted, and it ended up being a buildup of kidney stones that she had to have surgically removed.

well that makes me feel a little better..i dont think its a medical condition but sometimes i really do get nauseated at the thought of having to eat.....i think i dont see food as a good thing anymore but more as another darn thing i have to do to keep going...i guess thats a good thing...and i think i will take your advice and have some carrots and celery handy...i also know strawberries are low in carbs....thanks a lot..

Just wanted to welcome you to the forum!! Your doing awesome I can't believe how much weight you have lost!! Keep up the good work!! I'm sure you will reach your goal in no time at all!!
