Hello there everyone, well I am new at this so bare with me. My name is Amber and I am 25 years old. I currently weigh 185 lbs and am trying really hard to get down to 140 lbs. I have lost some weight since I got married almost years ago. (June 19th). Let's see where did it all go wrong. Well I joined the Army at 19 and of course by the time I got to Permanent Duty at FT Stewart, Ga I was about 125 lbs and looked almost like I was anorexic. I have a bigger skeletal system I guess. I kept the weight off for a little bit, but that all went downhill when I reinjured my ankle on a run. I hurt it the first time in BCT. I went to the Dr and had to have surgery to put two titanium anchors in my ankle to hold the ligaments I tore together. Well my ankle never got better and after yet another surgery they medically boarded me out of the army. I can't run or anything anymore. B/C of my ankle and the fact that I was limited on what I could do I gained weight while still in the army and never really got it off. Than I went on Lupron (hormone therapy) and gained even more weight. When I got out of the Army in 2004 I became severely depressed and turned to food for comfort, so by the time I got married in June 2004 I was right at 200 lbs. We have been trying to get pregnant for about a year now, and I am sure that if I lost the excess weight I might get there.
About a month ago my husband bought me a elliptical and the ab lounger, and just within the past week or so I really started to stay committed to working out. I do 30mins on the elliptical and 100 reps of each ab lounge exercise; there is about 4 or 5 of them. I know it takes time, but I am not a patient person. I hope by having support I might be able to win this battle. Thanks in advance...look forward to talking to all of you.
