Julio's Journal

Today my Weight Training teacher made us run 60 yard and taught us how how to increase our speed. Unfortunately, I had increase the resistance in my leg workouts the day before so my legs did not get any rest. I hope I'm able to walk tomorrow xD

Tough break. But I can certainly relate. Back when I was doing Cert III and IV in Fitness, it was a brutal schedule. Let's see if I recall correctly...

Cert III:
Monday - Fitness Testing, which would usually result in fullbody prac work.
Tuesday - Resistance Training in the morning, and Circuit Training in the afternoon, both resulting in fullbody prac work.
Wednesday - Exercise Programming, which also resulted in fullbody prac work.
Saturday - Aqua, which resulted in about 3 hours high intensity cardio every class.
Fridays were the only day I got to do my own training, because I'd be too buggered the rest of the week.

Cert IV:
Mon - Advanced Exercise Programming, featuring very intense exercise; and Special Populations, which usually involved prac work (but light exercise, if training with someone who plans to have a career in not killing people).
Tue - Personal Training, which almost invariably meant high intensity resistance training, but sometimes meant being thrashed with cardio drills.
Wed - Additional prac for Adv Ex Prog.
Thu - Postural Screening, which usually resulted in more prac work, primarily resistance training.
Fri - Strength and Conditioning which almost always resulted in some very intense sessions.

wow! lol...im going to do cert 3 and 4 next year at tafe and then joing the airforce. do either of you have any advice?....just about the corses in general

^ Read a book on exercise technique and instruction before you get to TAFE. Learn your basic barbell and bodyweight exercises - if you really understand the anatomy and mechanics of these exercises, you will quickly understand how to perform the many other exercises you'll have to learn as part of your course. And be prepared to eat, because you're probably going to do a lot of prac work, which you won't survive without good fuel. Oh, and learn about the origins and insertions of muscles. It is a lot easier to understand the roles various muscles play in different exercises when you understand where they're attached to.

ETA: Sorry Julio, we appear to be taking over your thread. Quick, post about some hardcore exercise you just learnt, to overcome our evil thread-jacking ways.

I haven't been recording my workouts in a while, but I think I have to start again in order to motivate myself.

Anyways, today I didn't workout in my Weight Training class because today was our discussion day. Tomorrow, hopefully, I'll weight training my lower body. I was wondering if you guys have any helpful tips as I want to gain mass. Currently, I weigh 130 and I'm 5'5.5". I have gained so mass since last year. I also want to know what I should eat in order to gain mass.

Thanks
