Hey all!
I decided it's time for me to start keeping track of some of the things that I'm doing. As of midnight tonight I'm going to try to not ahem "treat" myself to anything for two weeks, stick to my diet and excercies lots! There are a couple of rules that I've made for myself:
1. No sweets
2. No Artifically sweetened drinks (I am am aspertaine addict)
3. At least 2 L of water a day
4. Cardio every day and Toning 5 days a week
5. At least 1000 calories a day (I tend to not eat)
6. Only weigh myself on Sundays.

Just a few simple ones cause I like to fall off and get back on alot, I figure if I can do it for two weeks straight I'll get on a good track.
Last december I went down to 130 lbs, but I didn't look well. I was eating a chicken breast a day and convincing myself that was healthy and that I was still over weight. Right now I weigh 150. I don't want to really go down too much, but I would like to tone up. I've always had really low self esteem and have never really seen myself as pretty. Then last year a friend told me "it's okay I have a double chin too"...so started the weight loss. My highest weight was 185 lbs.
Every year I go back "home" to visit my mom for a couple of months and this year I wanna go back and blow her mind. We seem to have a genetic thing for bellies, my mom is teenie and stilll has this little belly =) Last year when I went back I gained 20 lbs in the month I was there. I don't want that to happen this year. I want to have enough control over my eating that I can still go and enjoy myself and not binge.

Welcome to your diary :)

Perhaps one of the reason you gained weight after visiting your mom last year is because you "went off your diet". If your new/current diet is not so much as a diet, but a way of life/eating, then it won't matter where you are, you will always be able to incorporate food into your life in a healthy, non binging way.

Falling off implies to me that you're doing something that you can't live with long term - and if that's the case, what are you going to do when you do get to the long term goal?

Setting reasonable goals, eating *enough* and excercising would be a great way to achieve. Learning to deal with food (as opposed to just eating chicken breast a day) ;) is a good start.

Thanks m2m!! =) I'm hoping that I can get into a life style. i'm definetly gonna give this way a try..eating a more balanced menu and then I don't think I'll fall off. And hopefully in the few months before I go I can get into a routine and keep it going while I'm away!
 
Jugg: Are you the girl in your avatar? If so, you are not ugly at all!! In fact...you look like Emma Watson (she's the girl in Harry Potter) and I think she's beautiful ::D
 
Awww thank you so much and yes thats me, there are some better pictures in the before and after forum...I don't think I look like her, I wish she's so cute. I think it's just the way the picture was taken =) but thank you none the less!
 
Well it's midnight my time! So I'm off and running...to bed =) I'm so excited about starting my healthier life style and keeping it up. Wish me luck

Alright day one is done! I was on my elliptical for two hours today, it says I burned 1000 calories, so we'll go with that. I also did my toning and that burns close to 400. so I burned 1400 calories.
I had a greek salad sans feta for lunch
For dinner I had a club salad, turkey, lettuce and cucumber with low fat dressing
I had a good first day! I feel great!!!
 
I mean to ask you earlier and in case I forget I'm asking here.... what kind of elliptical machine do you have? I was wondering what a good brand was so I could start pricing them. :)

soooo there goes day 2...I did my elliptical for 2 hours and did the dvd. I had greek salad again for lunch (it's always better the second day Yummy!) for dinner I had turkey breast, with mushrooms and salad. I didn't weigh myself today and I'm so proud *sniff* it was alot tougher than I thought. I had my hubby hide the scale =)
I'm still feeling good, good enough to wear a skirt this afternoon yay me!
I've been chatting with my aim buddy and the support is great, plus being on the computer so much is distracting me from eating. I still have to take my top model shot =)
Im so excited to weigh myself on Sunday. Ha ha and it's only day 2

*sigh* last night was tough, I thought my day was over! I had the worst cravings last night, I wanted bruschetta (sp?) so bad. and then my hubby made popcorn. but thanks to my buddys support I didn't "treat" myself...and I feel great about it this morning. I really want to stick this out! I still haven't weighed myself, I think thats starting to be the hardest part. I want to know how Im doing..ha ha
I'm off to work out

You seem to have a lot of willpower to stay off the scale, but even if you don't see the number you get to feel it on your body. Just keep it up:)
 
I like to weight myself too! I'm actually a little obsessed. :) We will help each other stay off the scale!!
 
Ha Ha scale buddies, that sounds like a disease or something =)
I'm having a great day today...I went tanning, did a bit of shopping and worked out till it felt like my legs were going to fall off. I did two hours on the elliptical and the dvd..plus I went for a walk outside for forty-five min! I had my nummy greek salad for lunch. I love greek salad! Does anyone have any suggestions on losing face fat? ha ha or am I stuck with pudgy cheeks? =)
