JP Morgan Corporate Challenge

Guys I am 29Male and have been working out in the gym, mainly weights, for a year or so. I am mainly training for muscles and strength. Physically and stength wise, I am not too bad.

I have NEVER been a runner but going to give the JP Morgan CC a go in London.
It is a 5.6Km run scheduled on 5 & 6 july.

In the gym, I hardly run. But yesterday, for the first time in my life, I did 45 minutes on treadmill.
I cycled between 5 minutes @ 6km/hr and then 5 minutes @ 8.5km/hr. I did that for 45 minutes - which pretty much takes me to approx. 5.6 km.

Any ideas how can I improve or train for the run?
Can people suggest some strategies or pointers for the run?
