Jonny's Journal

Beginning stats as of 04/13/08:

Weight: 148
Height: 5'6"
Age: 28
BMI: 13%

OK, so I have some definitive goals that I'd like to achieve. I've always been an active person, and never have I been over 166lbs nor do I ever plan to for the rest of my life. I eat three meals daily, with no carbs 3 hours prior to bed time. My workout schedule lately consists primarily of cardio every other day, some lifting with dumb bells and a 10lb medicine ball on the off days from cardio, and once a week I run 6 miles non-stop. I really love running and will never stop, but I would like to use more H.I.T.T. in my cardio, having read that it is more beneficial for cutting.

Hence, my primary objective is cutting, then bulking.

First, I'd like to reduce my BMI to 10% and maintain it a that level for a longtime.

Second, I'd like to bulk by my pectorals, tone my abdominals, and sculpt my back.

Third and finally, I'd like to achieve 165 lbs of lean mass with a BMI of 9% of less.

Today, I took some pics. Here's what I am working with:

Changes in My Life

Routine: I am alternating cardio frequencies to 24/45/60 minute sessions throughout the week on the elyptical (sp?). On the other days I variate my dumbbell and 10 lb medicine ball exercises. Lately, I have been concentrating on my core, which involves more twisting and turning.

Diet: I stopped eating three whole eggs every morning and cut back on the dextrose in my protein crepes. Instead, I am using 4 egg whites (organic), less dextrose (1/2 TBSP), and added 1 TBSP of flax seed oil. I also have resisted eating anything two hours before bed, but sometimes I falter. No more deserts either. I dilute my morning juice with water, and have noticed that milk gives me gas. My midday salad has 30g of chicken, along with 3 different colored vegetables. My hectic life has forced me to eat only three times a day.

Lifestyle: I am sleeping longer, but waking up earlier. Since school takes up 90% of my time, I find myself falling into a slump of loneliness, which can be detrimental to my progress. I must be more open to befriending people, but only those that can stimulate my mind and supplement my love for life. Is this being too picky? I don't let the occasional challenge get to me, and I am closing up the loose ends in my love (or lack thereof) life. With closure and peace of mind, I believe my body will work in lock-step with my mind's ambition to obtain the physique I so desire.

Still around 13.5% BMI, but at 146.5 as of right now.

Goals: <10% BMI and 150 of lean muscle.

Go Bra! :)

Congrats on your new journal! I wish you much luck with it, young man!

You are just goanna flat ROCK!

And, I have one more thing to say! uh, oh.......he, he :)

YOUR HEAD IS YOUR LEADER: its like screwing in a light bulb: Twist your mind INTO YOUR GOAL, and IT WILL LIGHT THE HELL UP!

(LOL, just dont let it POP!)
:)

THIS IS WHAT ITS ABOUT! ROCK ON, BE HARD, BE MOTIVATED, LOOK AT YOUR GOAL, SEE YOUR GOAL.........

.....and walk up to it and SMILE, and snicker at the same time, and rip its face off! :)

If you fall 5 times, get up 6 times, the trick is getting back up: As staying down is just that, your gonna stay down and get no where, but getting back up, gives you another chance to head butt its @ss. GO BRA!

Seek and you shall find: There are many paths one can take in a journey and many forks in the road. But, when you properly educate yourself in the goal you seek, this will allow you to learn which fork to take and lead you to your goal.

As you get advice, remember this: There are no bad bodily feedbacks in my opinion whether its negative or positive. The negative portion may not be the one you wanted, but its feedback and SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING, and how you handle this can determine alot of different things on your journey toward you goal.

ROCK ON!

YOU are always in control, the body is not: Watch, listen, and keep your eyes open, and ADAPT AND OVERCOME, and dont let anyone tell you any different!

Welcome to the forum, and good luck with your journal!

Yes.........BLAST THE HELL OFF! ;)

Best regards

NEW DEVELOPMENTS!

I have replaced milk with soy milk in my protein crepe, and cut out the dextrose, yet still need to decrease the fruit preserves!

Reconnected with a trainer in San Francisco, picked his brain for about 1/2 hour , and made a commitment to utilize his knowledge when the time permits. We will be taking jogs throughout SF this summer, something I really look forward too!!

I ran 6.8 miles in 1 hour yesterday!! And I wasn't exhausted at the end as well!! In one month's time I want to be at 55 minutes!!

One thing I learned was to variate my routines every three months, which translates into me changing my format in 1 month as well.

I need to buy a pull up bar!!!

Last night I weighed 145.6 @13.0 BMI

Improvise, Adapt, Overcome: Semper Fidelis, OOO RAH!!

One thing I learned was during one of my longer runs a while back, I pronation in my left foot was acting up again, sending pangs of pain to my head. Yet, I was determined to not quit. I was in the last leg of my run, and I concentrated in my end goal, focusing my mind far ahead of me, tothat street in the distance. It was like magic, even though I knew the pain was there, it wasn't hindering my run. I also thought about my foot placement and mentally controlled every step I took with my left, aligning it every time I stepped on it, which also decreased my pain. Later on, I took this active thinking into another run, isolating that foot's pronation and looking ahead instead of down. Additionally, I kept a positive frame and smiled at the drivers and pedestrians. the run went very well and I was pleased to see that my left leg did not suffer the pain as it had done before!! Yes, I do see my goal! I will have the physique I so desire and the time is now!!

Once again, but with a twist!

I made this up. I call it my Elimination Diet, even though it must have been thought of before. Simply eliminate one specific item every day until an optimal diet is attained. It allows you to incorporate a new lifestyle change but gradually. If it is listed, then I cannot have it except in the event of a cheat meal (once weekly). I've already had item #2,#3, and #5 this week!

1- Regular Cheeses (10-10-08)

2- Colored Regular Sodas (10-11-08)

3- Deep Fried Fast Foods (10-12-08)

4- All Hamburgers (Monday 10-13-08)

5- Ice Cream (10-14-08)

6- Candy Bars (10-15-08)

7- Sweet Coffee Drinks (10-16-08)

8- White Bread (10-17-08)

9- Regular Butter (10-18-08)

10- Regular Pasta (10-19-08)

11- Pizza in all forms (10-20-08)

12- Mixed Liquor Drinks (10-21-08)

13- Deep Fried Snacks (10-22-08)

14- Cake (10-23-08)

15- Popcorn (10-24-08)

16- Milk Shakes (10-25-08)

17- Sausage (10-26-08)

160 lbs @ 19% BMI!! Yikes!! Yes, I did let myself go this summer! Tiem to shape up!!
