Joint pain

Hey everyone. Nice site here and very informative. So I was hoping someone can help me out with my question.

Every time I workout with resistance bands or free weights, the joints in my hands hurt so much that I am unable to complete my final reps when for example, I do bicep curls. Is there anything I can do to rid the pain from my joints? This problem prevents me from training my arms/back to my maximum potential. Thanks.

Im no doctor but you should get checked for arthritis. Is it just your hands ? If you have joint pain in your hands, elbows, shoulders, etc on both sides of the body, alot of times it turns out to be rheumatoid arthritis. Again, im no Dr. but you can also go to webmd.com and do a symptom checker.
Good luck and welcome.

thanks for the suggestion but I only get pain in my metacarpal joints (between finger and palm).

I'm only 26 so aren't I still too young for arthritis? Only hurts when i lift weights and not at random times.

No your never too young, a friend I used to train with developed arthritis in his hands only at around 20, then he ended up getting it in his elbows. His mostly started in his knuckle area in the mid part of the finger. Bicep workouts became a real pain for him, he started using straps insted of gloves and he sais that helps alot as the straps take on alot of the stress that your joints normally do. Thats why alot of guys use them for deads and heavier lifts. If it dont get better on its own, seein a doc cant hurt. Again, not sayin you have it or ya dont. Just a little helpful advice. Let us know how ya fair out.

I'll check it out for sure. Thanks again.
