Jesse's Journal

I'm 18 years old, and wanna change my life around by getting in shape again for the wakeboard season this summer. I planned to do at-least 45min of jogging each day on a treadmill.
Height: 183cm
Weight: 88kg
I'm not sure what my body fat percent is but i guessing it pretty high, im a big guy but i need to loose some kg of fat.
I'm at my last year at high school.

i wanna keep on doing 45min of jogging each day and having a healthy diet, with no sugar in one month.
Then after a month see how i did, i will try to update my journal each week of changes.
-Jesse.
please tell me if im doing it wrong, or i can do it better im open for new stuff :D

what do you have planned as a "healthy diet"? Diet is where you weight loss is going to come from.

Define "sugar." Sugar can mean different things depending on who you ask. "No sugar" could mean "no sugarcane," or it could mean "nothing sweet," or it could mean "no carbohydrates at all." The latter would be a bad idea; the first two options not so bad.

If you're happy to be on a treadmill jogging for 45min daily, and your musculoskeletal system is happy to adhere to it, too (which it may be, or it may not be, depending on both technique and the current condition of your muscles, bones and joints), then your exercise routine may be fine. Personally, I wouldn't do it, for both physical and mental reasons, but that's me. From September through to the end of December, I shed down 9kg of bodyweight, and the recipe was strength training and diet, rather than cardio and diet. It turned out alright, and I ended up being the leanest I've been since about 2008-2009.

Jessie, how's your progress? Fill us in!

Running on the treadmill every day for 45 minutes is great exercise (and will burn fat). Some advice: try to vary your intensity level for better calorie burn.

As Goldfish said, if you enjoy running and it works for you, go with it - but make sure to pay attention to your calorie consumption, too, because eating junk can undo all the hard work you do on the treadmill!
