Hi, everyone. Hope everyone is doing Ok.

Well, my name is Jerry and i've finally commited myself to losing weight.
I have two main reasons for losing weight.
1 I've had enough of not enjoying life and my family because of my insecurity of my weight.
2 I'm scared for my health.

I'm 26, 5'6" and 236 lbs. My short term goal is 200 lbs and my long term goal is 180 lbs and below.

I plan on cutting the portions of my meals down, avoiding salt, sugar and fat as much as possible. Eating way more fruit and veggies and drinking a gallon of water per day.

I plan on putting the treadmill i bought 5 months ago to work. I would like to do two 30 minute rounds everyday.

Here I go, I'm ready to enjoy life!

Stay strong everyone.

sounds like a solid plan!

glad to hear your enthusiasm!!

You can do it! You've still got alot of life to live!

Jerry, your plan is very good.

A few suggestions:

1. your diet needs to include a source of protein (eggs, meats, etc.)
2. not all fats are to be avoided. You can and should consume fish oil, olive oil, flax seed oil.

Good luck.

p.s. final suggestion: start slowly, don;t rush into mupltiple daily sessions. build up training volume gradually.

Thanks for the encouraging words guys.
Jaho, i hear ya. Still gonna eat things like chicken, but instead of plugging in the deep fryer, i'm gonna bake or boil. You know, i really love fish but i just don't trust it for it's contaminent levels. Maybe every so often, but not enough to encorperate into my diet.
So tonight i had baked chicken(1 leg), 2 corn on the cob and steamed broccoli and steamed green beans. Does that seem like a lot? I kinda feel like veggies are free ride foods but i know corn is bad for it's starch.

So anyway, i guess i'll get my second 30 min power walk on the treadmill going.

Stay strong.

So far today is going well. I'm finding that all this water drinking is really helping to suppress my hunger cravings. I've replaced my morning coffee with 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar and 1 creamer with a plain teatly green tea.

Power walked on the treadmill for 45 min. Was not nearly as hard today.

So far all i ate today was a sandwich with some smoked turkey from a turkey leg, 2 pieces of flax seed bread, onion tomatoe and some lettuce. I did have the mayonaise out and looked at is for quite some time, then decided that i want to loose weight more than i want mayonaise. So i put it away and felt good about myself for it.

Gonna try to have a small meal for supper and maybe another 30 min on the treadmill.

Stay strong.

welcome to the forum... Glad you have decided to change your lifestlye for the best. Keep up the good work. Don't give up and drink your WATER :D

Jerry, corn is not bad, just don't indulge in too much of it. There is no such thing as bad foods as far as natural foods are concerned (though cookies, TV dinners and such can be called bad..). That said, limiting (eliminating is not necessary in my opinion) the starchy foods is important.

Keep it up!

Thanks for the support guys!! I've been doing great.
I've decided i'm going to update my diary every thursday, since thats my weigh in day. I'm feeling better all ready.

Jerry it sounds like you already know what you want and how to get it. We are all behind 150%. It is people like you who help motivate the rest of us. You'll see the pounds dropping in no time and I for one can't wait to here your progress. Make sure to do a diary those are really interesting.

Good luck!!!

MY FIRST PROGRESS!!!!! 10 LBS LIGHTER!!!!!!!!
I still can't believe it. I lost 10 pounds in one week.
It's looks like my plan is working. I've been eating 3/4 of what i used to and it's all health stuff like oat meal, flax seed bread, chicken, salad and all kinds of fresh fruit and veggies. I have 3 meals per day and no snacking. Avoiding all extra fat, sugar and salt. Drinking minimum 96OZ of water per day.
Exercise includes streching, push ups, sit ups and power walking on my treadmill for at least an hour per day. I plan on bumping my treadmill time up to two 1.5 hours per day and seeing if i can build any jogging stamina yet.
Man do I feel great!
Any questions or comments are welcome.

Drink your water guys!
