Hi, everyone! I haven't been here in months. I figured I'd start fresh with a new diary. For those that don't know me- I've been on this forum for years. I've lost and regained weight countless times. My biggest struggle losing weight is emotional eating. I eat when I'm happy, sad, mad, bored, etc. My highest weight was 290 lbs back in 2006. Several years ago I lost a lot of weight and got down to around 185 lbs. I steadily gained weight back though, and have stayed around 215-230 for the last couple of years. In the past I have used strict calorie counting, portion control, and low carb diets to lose weight. Those methods have always worked for me, but I never stick to them. I always get sick of it and quit. The last time I was on a diet I ditched the tedious calorie counting and strict low carb diet, and just made healthier choices. I avoided carbs when possible, ate healthy snacks, and cut back on my portions. I was a lot happier that way, so that is what I will be doing again.
Other fun facts about me:
I am 39 years old.
I'm met, fell in love with, and married another member of this site.
I have 3 wonderful kids.
I work from home.
I love pop, chocolate, and all the unhealthy things.
Not a fan of exercise. I'll do it, but again, not a fan.
I'm 5'6". My goal is to get down to around 160 or 170 lbs. That may still seem high to some, but I do carry my weight fairly well, and I'm not going for a super skinny look. I feel that goal is realistic, but it could change down the road. I'm not attached to a certain number. As long as I'm happy and healthy that's all that matters.
I actually don't know my current weight, and probably won't weigh myself for another week or two. The reason being... I just had a baby!! I had a c-section on Jan 3rd, and am still a little swollen in my legs and feet. I gained 18 lbs during the pregnancy and was up to 248 on the day of delivery, but I have no idea what I weigh now. For those that know us around here... Chef and I are over the moon with our new little girl. She is absolutely perfect!!! She's healthy, beautiful, and has the cutest chubby little cheeks!
I'm doing really good too. My recovery from the c-section has not been nearly as bad as I thought it would be, so that's a relief. Since I just had a baby, I obviously can't do anything strenuous until I get the ok from my doctor, but I'd like to get back to focusing on weight loss. I hope everyone here has been doing good as well. I'm not sure how regularly I'll be posting with a new baby, but I will be around for sure.
