Jelly Belly - is walking the answer?

Hi all Im an active 26 Year old, with a wee bit of a problem when I was nineteen I got Pneumonia, which lead to me not excsercing for about 2 years and gained a bit of a jelly belly. Since then Iv got back into the old exersice habbits but ive still got a jelly belly while the fat and weight lost from re exsercising has gone from my legs, arms and face - leaving me looking a bit gaunt apart from a pot belly! I do weight lifting and long distance running is there an activity that will help loose fat straight from the gut rather than other areas? I heard walking was better for loosing fat but cant understand why running isnt more fat fighting? Any help would be much appreciated!

many people will tell u that running does it for you, for me however, this was not the case, i strongly beleive in walking, i feel that because it is not as tiring as running you are able to do it for a longer period of time, thus resulting in burning calories more. if you can dedicate an hour of walking 5 times a week, you will definately shed the pounds, but remember it must be on an every-day basis, if its here and there it will not work, and thats good that u are doing weights that builds muscle and muscle burns fat!

Unfortunately, the answer is NO. As the experts around here will tell you, you cannot spot reduce. You must lower your overall body fat to see results in a 'targeted' aread, like your belly.

To do this you must have a well balanced eating program (eat small meals 5-6 times per day; one carb/one protein), you must drink plenty of water. You must also get yourself into a good excercise routine including both cardio and weight training.

There are tons of threads on this, feel free to look around to get good ideas! Good luck to you :)
