Hey guys I thought I put up my 8 Fat loss Commandments ... Feel free to add any goods one to my list ....

FAT LOSS COMMANDEMENT #1
MOVE AROUND!

A few hours of training a week is not drastically going to improve your figure. Lets say you train for example 3 hours a week that still leaves 165 hours to be a fat and lazy and store fat !!!! Get Active , Walk to the shop , Take the stairs (not the elevator), walk the dog , run up the stairs instead of walking just get moving ….

FAT LOSS COMMANDEMENT #2
LIFE PATTERN!

Fat loss isn’t Rocket Science , Allot of things are down to your life pattern . If you continue to live a pattern of life that makes you fat then your not giving yourself a decent chance to change your figure. Stop buying that takeaway pizza on a Monday or that “one” packet of choc chip cookies with the weekly shop and get serious.

FAT LOSS COMMANDEMENT #3
THINK BEFORE YOU EAT!

Just take a second and think before you eat . Is this Subway or Pizza going to bring me closer to my goal or will it take me further away.

GET NEGATIVE NOT POSITIVE #4
If you expand more calories (Energy) Than you consume then you will loose Bodyfat FACT.

FAT LOSS COMMANDEMENT #5
EAT MORE PROTEIN!

Protein intake is crucial when trying to reduce Bodyfat . When dieting your body will go looking for them extra calories its loosing and needs . It will not only use Fat stores but will look to burn protein . Think about it … your body Stores FAT for a reason and it will want to keep it at all costs . Your body will preferably use the fat burning culprit MUSCLE . Your body will literally breakdown muscle tissue and fat simultaneously. This serves as a protective mechanism in order to decrease your Metabolic rate and protect its precious fat stores. Upping your Protein intake will give your body an extra source of protein to use and serve to protect your muscle form being eaten !

FAT LOSS COMMANDEMENT #6
CARB CONSUPTION!

When Loosing bodyfat carbs are not your friend . Stay away from simple Sugars such as glucose, Fructose,Dextrose and Maltodextrin . EARN YOU CARBS FEW INTENSE TRAINING ! Pre ,During and post workout periods are the times you should have big carb meals

FAT LOSS COMMANDEMENT #7
LEAVE THE “FATBURNING ZONE”!

Training at low intensities(<30%max) is counterproductive! Lift Heavy ,Train Fast ,Move Fast and you will lose fast !

FAT LOSS COMMANDEMENT #8
GOAL SETTING!

Set a goal thats specific . “I want to loose 4lbs in a month” doesnt cut it . What happens then ? you go back to eating like a pig. Set a long term goal and then break that long term goal up in to smaller goals . NO JOB IS TO BIG IF DIVIDED UP INTO SMALL JOBS!

1 and 4 are pretty much the same thing.

3 and 2 are the same thing just slightly changed.

8 actually contradicts itself. First you say that short term goals don't work, set them long term but then break that into short term goals. It would be wiser to remove the first part and leave the last part.

Oh..and your 'commandments' have been posted, listed, said, and repeated over and over already on this forum. Sorry, this isn't exactly new.

I put something up different and new (Is cardio bad for fat loss post) and we all know how that went :smash:.... Everyone decided that no way on this earth that endurance training might actually be bad for fat loss . Just because it gets you fit doesnt mean its good for fat loss.

I dont understand you Jericho .. You say not to put posts up that are negative etc so I have posted only helpful posts, since and now there not "new" enough for you . I didnt see any commandment posts at the top of the page .I'm not saying there new or revolutionary but there mine so I thought I put them up. And I disagree with them being the same. I will reword them a bit better in a sec .

The word 'commandments' already annoys me...who died and made you boss? Who are you to decide what's right and what's wrong?

Before posting anything else, take a good look around the board. Read the stickies. If it is already in there, there's little reason to repeat it over and over again, unless somebody specifically asks for it.

As for putting something 'new' up - the reason that post didn't go over so well was because
a) extremely poor choice of words on your part. Just like this one.
b) Half the information in it was wrong, or taken out of context.
c) You didn't listen to anybody else's opinion, reason, or logic.
d) You didn't answer direct questions, just kept quoting things that didn't exactly match the question asked.

You have been told over and over why people weren't happy with your post. You waltz in here, make yourself sound like a pro, and tell people what to do, talking down to people who don't agree with you, and don't accept any opinion but your own. That just doesn't go down well with people around here.

The sad thing is, some of you advice and info is actually pretty good, but you have no idea how to get it across in a manner that makes people want to take said advice. You might want to work on your communication skills a little.

This is pretty true. This community has been around long before you showed up. How would you like it if I kicked in your door, held a shotgun to your head and you told you I was the new king of your house?
:iagree:

well i think thats a big thing that "experts" dont' get. This is (to alot of us) our "home" and we don't take lightly to people "moving in" and telling us we've got it all wrong and they have the answers. *shrugs* what can ya do about it?

Another thing though, even though many of us may be annoyed by it...you never know if someone new to weight loss will read a post like this and get something from it.

I think the problem is domination and ego. The site seems to attract people who think they have the weight management problem solved and feel the need to serve their egos by ranting on this site. And often their advice is 'skewed' to their own beliefs rather than a more balanced view and a thorough understanding of the subject, human behaviours and communication.

They then busily attempt to hijack the site taking a very arrogant stance as if everyone on the site is just some dumb fatty desperate for their help.

I'm sorry but it is annoying. I don't even need to lose weight and I find their attitude and behaviour really irritating.

I like this site. I have learned a lot and I hope from time to time I have been of help but JayFarrant is yet another mouthy know-it-all (note the spelling Jay) who I think spoils the positive tone of the site.

However, having tracked this site for quite awhile now I assume he will either learn to behave constructively or lose interest because he fails to get the ego strokes he's looking for an move on as they usually do.

ok, Korrie is right about new members getting something out of it. Most of his information is good information. I'm not disputing that. Maybe if we can work with you on how you say it?

I Will do my best from now on to word what I say better and make it less in your face !!!! . I'm not a dominating and egotistic person, lol seriously if you met me, that would be the last thing you think .I generally believe in what I say ,Hence me defending it so much
(Not saying I'm Right about everything Its just my opinion and take it with a pinch of salt )

Jay.

OMG what is wrong with some people!! I enjoyed reading his tips anyway and they make sense to me nor do they offend me. Thank you!

I am more in agreement with Lilith than most of those who got uppity about the OP.

However, I do find some of information in his commandments utterly wrong and sound made up. IN particular the way he justifies eating more protein and what to do with carbs.

I am not in the mood to go on about what i think is the right explanation. Its not that simple.

But one simple thing is this, the body prefers to burn carbohydrates, not protein. Burning carbohydrates for exercise is better than burning protein. The body does not go looking for muscles to chew up because of a lack of protein in your diet. It only chews up muscle when it runs out of its usual source of energy. EAting protein repairs the muscle and builds muscle. It can be used for energy too but the bodies first choice will always be carbs in combination with fat. The fat will come first from what is circulating in the blood stream and then it will start to break down the fat in storage once it runs out of the stuff in the bloodstream. This is one reason why its good to eat a low fat diet.

I don't have a problem with this guys using the word commandments. I take these are the rules that he lives by and he is sharing them.

I actually rather like hte idea of people posting their own 10 commandments. But given the responses of a few people, i won't do mine. Mostly they are on my own page.
