And purchased a YMCA membership.

Now, as I'm pondering whilst watching some College basketball, when should I start my diet/exercising?

I'm slowly substituting extremely sweet tea with gatorade and water and trying to eat healthier. I've exchanged white bread for wheat, grilled for baked and I'm cutting out FF as much as I can(my wallets thanking me:))

I'm just looking for some advice and what else should I do. I've read the stickies and tried to comprehend as much as possible, but being a complete noob it's tough starting from scratch.

I guess I should give details, I'm a 6'0 250lb, 18 year old male who was thin in middle school and 1st year of high school. Got lazy, video games seemed like the thing to do and shot up to where I'm at now.

Any advice is grand and I'll soak it all up. I'm starting with Steve's "beginner program".

You have started already with the changes you have done.

You have found healthier replacements for your foods and from this you can develop better and better habits. The fact that you recognize how you got to this point is fabulous!

I am getting motivated by communicating and researching this forum. So many wonderful souls doing the same. There are a lot of tips here that will help you make better and non-stagnant choices that will keep the motivation on key.

I think most important is exercise and by finding several activities you enjoy to participate in is better. I inline skate, walk and I have recently tried ice skating. So the more activities you can do the less the boredom.

Going to a gym is great too if you do not get bored with it or you can work in other activities.

Good luck and I will be looking for your progress!
