Hey everyone, I'm Andy.
I'm starting to feel more motivated to do something about my health, as I feel that lately it's been increasingly getting worse.
I've always been a bigger person ever since I can remember. Always feeling self-conscious in a locker room or shy with girls.
I used to work in a feed mill where heavy lifting and running around were a common thing, and at my lowest weight there I was at around 250lbs. My self confidence was rising with every pound I lost, but then something happened to my motivation and things went down hill. I'm not at my heaviest right now, but I'd like to get back to where I was starting to feel better about myself, and then set more goals from there.
Right now I weigh 303lbs. BMI rating of 33.3. I'm 21 years old, 6'8", and I'd like to describe my body type as muscular, but with some extra fluff.
Most of my excess weight (problem areas) are in my midsection, along with my thighs and chest.
I've set a goal of being at 250lbs by May 13 (6 months).
That gives me 26 weeks to lose 50lbs. Roughly 2lbs/week. A fair and healthy goal I think.
Currently my diet consists of food that would not be considered healthy.
IE: pop, snack foods (chips, crackers, processed filler food), fast food hamburgers/fries, and the really big one.... pizza.
My plan is to do my best to remove these foods from my diet and substitute them with healthier foods like more fruits and vegetables. My new iphone has some nice health monitoring tools, so I will be using these to keep track of intake calories and used calories such as walking and exercising. I have a stationary bike and weights that I will use more often (start with 30mins a day combined). And I will be taking health and weight loss supplements including hydroxycut and regular vitamins.
I'll make monthly updates in another section of the forum showing progress on weight, what kind of foods/exercise, and how I'm feeling. The winter months are naturally harder around where I live due to cold weather but I hope to stay motivated and reach my goals.
If you've made it this far, thank you for reading. I'm glad to be in a place where people seem to be supportive and give feedback on what might work better and keep me motivated.
