It's that time of year

for most of us anyhow...

comes to an end... and we set our clocks back an hour... and we get back that precious hour we lost in April... and while it will get dark earlier.. at least if we want to take that early morning walk we won't walk into walls.
Interesting tidbit about DST
For the U.S. and its territories, Daylight Saving Time is NOT observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Arizona. The Navajo Nation participates in the Daylight Saving Time policy, even in Arizona, due to its large size and location in three states.
A safety reminder
Many fire departments encourage people to change the battery in the smoke detector when they change their clocks because it provides for a convenient reminder. "A working smoke detector more than doubles a person's chances of surviving a home fire," says William McNabb of the Troy Fire Department in Michigan. More than 90 percent of homes in the United States have smoke detectors, but one-third are estimated to have dead or missing batteries.

Folks in the province of Saskatchewan don't observe DST... neither do folks in the community of Atikokan. Some of my fellow Canadians are such rebels :D

Thanks for the PSA Mal... I'll be checking the extinguishers at work too

Thanks for sharing info:) ! I always looked at as "yay" another hour
of needed sleep! I have 2 bad smoke detectors and only 1 working 1
now so I need to get on the ball especially after what I saw my parents\
went through! Carbon monoxide is another killer and I was told I should
get a carbon detector as well since my furnace is accient being
atleast over 50 years old:( ! Tammy

Nia: Definately you should have a carbon monoxcide detector by the furnace and one on every floor of your house. Mine are right next to my smoke detectors.
