It's good to be me

I just wanted to say I'm on fall break. So that means I have a 4 day weekend, and I'm getting paid. Oh that's right...I only work 175 days a year and get paid year around anyway. :)

There's only one thing in the world hawter than paid holidays---->

Hey, man, I gotcha beat.

I don't have to work any days a year, and I still get money (via dh's salary). I can go to lunch with friends, or go shopping, or wear pajamas all day....

and I don't have to get up and go to work ever.

That's right, every day is a paid holiday for me buddy, all I gotta do is cook, clean, ...wipe snotty noses.....chase kids all day, uhhh... change diapers, .......hey, wait a minute:11doh:

:)

Enjoy your days off.

Albeit if I was a woman, this is exactly how I'd live. In fact, if I could find someone making enough money, I wouldn't mind being a stay-at-home Dad. That being said, I deal with snotty kids and having to chase them down all day. And I'd swear some of them act like they should still be in diapers. ;)

Evo, IIRC, you're a school PE coach and, quite frankly, I'm glad you're happy doing what you do because that makes you a better teacher which benefits everyone, especially your students.

Oh wow...that's awesome of you to say. Yeah, I love my job. I have tons of fun. I sometimes surprise them by lecturing; I often am seen playing football or volleyball or doing 1v1 or 1v2 soccer drills with the students. There are other things I can see myself doing, but a lot of what I see revolves around working with adolescents (12-18) through sport, coaching/teaching, or lifting.

I actually graduated with my English education degree; I have a teaching certification in phys ed/health/safety and English. I have a fun time teaching English as I love literature, poetry, and grammar. However, there was a charter school that specializes in arts, math, and science hiring for a PE teacher/soccer coach because their PE teacher/soccer coach was murdered by his son (yes, I'm being absolutely serious).

I couldn't resist the allure of teaching at a gifted school. I will admit that I did most of my student teaching and observation at poverty schools and really enjoyed the experience.

It's been surprisingly frustrating to work with gifted students as it has with students in a poor socieo-economic situation. It's been completely different attitudes and behaviours, but it's been surprisingly similar in that both sides reflect, at a certain percentage, animosity and uncertainty towards being physically active.

...I could go on, but it'd just be ramblings, observations, and debate over old learnings vs new philosophies.

well, i'll admit it -- you've got a great gig!

and while i generally hated PE (i was a lazy ass!) i did LOVE field hockey. omg, it felt good to actually do something really aggressive with no repercussions. i think all the girls liked to get out some of their frustrations when we played and it was probably the most competitive that i've ever been in ANY sport! good times...

Sounds like my life:)

I swear evo, we wouldn't have near as many fatass kids in this country if all the P.E. teachers (or parents for that matter) were like you. just an observation.

Anyway, are you enjoying your time off away from your group of snot nosed little people?
