IsaGenix

When I was 19, I was big into losing weight. I got down to about 140 pounds when a friend of my Dad's told him about this program called IsaGenix. I saw that someone made a thread about it sometime in 2007 but it seems to have been removed.

In any case, I tried it and went from 140 to 130 or so in a week (may have been 150 to 140 though, that sounds more correct >.<). But the thing is...I don't recall my clothes fitting any better. I don't recall feeling worn out or lighter. I just remember using that same scale and noticing a 10 pound difference. Mind you, I was still working out too and I know you can't just do a diet program without exercise.

Is this possible though? Some part of me wants to try it again since my Dad's friend lost a load as well. But is it healthy? Where does the weight go if you lose like 10 pounds...it just magically disappears...but you don't notice a difference? I remember it talking about cleansing out bad fat, like shrinking it or something, but I don't get it. =/ I know it's expensive and I remember most of what I had to do and you never went hungry but I don't want to waste my time or money on it.

I am on the program and LOVE it. See my thread. I am losing inches and my pants are litterally falling off. I know its not "water weight" and I am NOT losing muscle either. Whatever it's doing it is working. I feel so good and am going to do another 30 day weight loss and cleanse. Seems odd that you lost 10 lbs and didn't notice any changes. This time take your before during and after measurements. Hope it helps.

Eat less calories than you burn and you lose weight. The cleansing...I have plenty of opinion and facts about that part mainly that detoxing is a scam and is not scientificly proven to be true (in fact it can be down right harmful)..but if you are going to do one of these things, ask yourself if this isn't something you can do on your own by cutting the calories out yourself instead of paying someone for it?

Breakdown for the 9 days

DAY

1. Cleanse for Life X 4, Isagenix Snacks X 6, total calories for day = 340

2. Cleanse for Life X 4, Isagenix Snacks X 6, total calories for day = 340

3 Sensible Meal X 1, Isalean Shake X 2, Isagenix Snacks X 6, total calories for day = 1260

4 Sensible Meal X 1, Isalean Shake X 2, Isagenix Snacks X 6, total calories for day = 1260

5 Sensible Meal X 1, Isalean Shake X 2, Isagenix Snacks X 6, total calories for day = 1260

6 Sensible Meal X 1, Isalean Shake X 2, Isagenix Snacks X 6, total calories for day = 1260

7 Sensible Meal X 1, Isalean Shake X 2, Isagenix Snacks X 6, total calories for day = 1260

8. Cleanse for Life X 4, Isagenix Snacks X 6, total calories for day = 340

9. Cleanse for Life X 4, Isagenix Snacks X 6, total calories for day = 340

That is 7660 calories over 9 days. Do you realize that averages to only 851 calories a DAY? You aren't losing weight cause of the cleansing. You are losing weight cause you are starving yourself. Step away from the hype. Step away from the 'claims'. Look at the numbers and look at the facts.

Jim Coover (Senior Vice President) is not totally unfamiliar with low calorie diets. He was a co-founder of the Cambridge Diet in the 80’s - a liquid diet. one drink, one soup, one choc bar per day that restricts your food to about 600 calories per day.. (A diet still being sold via MLM distributors).

The main ingredient of the cleanse for life is Ionic Alfalfa...it's a fancy name for fiber. Seriously. Combined with other items that are known to make you need to use the bathroom, you aren't cleaning yourself. You are doing what your body does naturally! There is not one ingredient in the Cleanse that does anything 'detoxing'.

Just remember, there is a reason that everyone of their things has a disclaimer saying it isn't ment for diagnosis, treating, curing, or prevent any disease. That is the equal of psychics tagging 'for entertainment purposes only'. They sell themselves as telling the truth but they don't want to be sued cause they know they are frauds.

Save yourself the money. Look at what you are eating, make small changes and you will have big successes.

Oh, and what would you do long term? You want to keep the weight off right? You aren't going to do this for the rest of your life so learn the right way to lose weight as far as lifestyle changes. Cut out those things that are harming your weight and bring in more that helps it. Stop the McDonalds and add more homecooking where you can control the portions and ingredients.

Have more faith in yourself.

Sorry if I went off here but things like this plan gets my goat.

Wow Jericho. You seem to know it all : ) I'm NOT starving at all. My physician is on board with my plan as well. So far I cant tell you what is hype or not, but I know for a fact that I feel tons better and am not running out of energy or feeling foggy like if I were to just be on a calorie restricted plan. I HAVE tried just cutting calories and do excersise but nothing compares so far to how great I feel and what I have lost on this program.

P.S. This is not a diet plan and YES I do plan on using the products as long as I can aford to do so. Thats how good I feel and look. Spoken from someone who is actually doing the program.

I understand why you would defend it since most of your posts here has been about this plan. However, call me a doubter when you say your doctor is on board with it. Personally, I would find a doctor who knows what he is talking about if he thinks this is healthy. I feel this plan will backfire in the long run cause you never learn how to maintain a healthy weight and diet on it.

This is just personal opinion. You have given your side, I gave mine.

Ghstgrl, I've giving you facts and information. What you do with it is entirely up to you.

PS: I play WoW too (email lookup). I have stopped for a while but I might be returning after the next expansion.

Doubt it or not she is. I followed the directions and went and consulted my physician first. Either way I see your side as well. I beleive that time will tell what happens and I cannot predict the future so for now I'm happy and feeling good about all of it.
