Am a little bit confused on what some do say about workouts. Some say that working out is a cause of stunt growth especially in people who are still growing.
How true can this be?

Exercise is generally not going to stunt your growth. Growth is stunted when you damage the growth plates which are located at the end of your bones. Growth plate damage is most often caused by impact in full contact sport in the same way the young athlete would break bones normally.

Lifting weights will not stunt your growth unless the young person is lifting weights well above their capabilities and lifting with terrible form. A young person lifting the correct weights under competent supervision is not going to damage growth plates and stunt their growth.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate...

i never thought about it before, but growing up i pretty much was always active in one of the triathlon phases... running, biking or swimming. the only weights i touched were a bat and various types of balls.

i was sad to hear dodge ball is considered too violent to be a gym option these days. have to smile a bit... at our school we actually called it "bombardment" .... lol. so much fun... i can remember being the last man standing more than once and bringing our team back...!
