Weight-Loss Is what I ate today okay?

Hi there
New to this weight loss thing. Trying hard not to count calories as for me this has become obsessive before in the past

But finding it hard to know how to eat to loose weight without counting?
This was what I had today-anxious that this is too much but what do you think? I am 22 years old and work on my feet some of the day

Breakfast= muesli and milk
Snack= apple
Lunch=2 baked falafel, spinach and hummus in wheat wrap
Tea= 1/2 cup rice, roasted parsnips, sundried tomato, 1 falafel mini corn on cob, carrots and 2tbsp hummus
Dessert= 2 squares dark choc (150cal)
Snack=banana

Feeling guilty about having dessert but do you think this is okay?

I have two suggestions. I would encourage focusing on increasing vegetable intake in the tune of one serving in each of your meals, including snacks! Fruit and vegetables have very different impacts to your body's metabolism in the form of how they impact your insulin.

Secondly, I would recommend getting protein in each of your meals as well, this too includes snacks. Protein is very satiating meaning you are less likely to over eat and you feel full after eating it. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner I would suggest 20-25 grams. For snacks at least 10-15 grams.

Don't sweat the chocolate. Go for the chocolate with the highest percent of cocoa, you get most health benefit from it!

definitely need to increase your protein intake. i dont know if you are a vegetarian, but if you include more protein in your diet it will definitely help with weight loss
 
What you eat doesn't actually matter. Everyone eats vegetables and fruit because they are "healthy" but foods which are healthy won't make you loose weight. You need to figure out how many calories you need to eat to maintain your weight and then eat that many calories. Eating only healthy foods won't make you loose weight if you eat more calories then you burn. Eat nutritiously but its the caloric balance which will make you loose weight.
