Is this too much supplements for a 17 year old to be taking?

My friend takes these supplements and is seeing tremendous gains. I don't take anything atm and wondering if I should adhire to his routine. What does everyone think?

No explode for preworkout
cell mass in mornings
BCAAs aminos
regular aminos
glutamine3 times a day
nitro tech oprotein
300g protein a day
512% of vitamin b12
vitamin c packs 1110% of the DV in each packet

First, you haven't even touched on the most important supps:

Multi-vitamin
Fish Oil

Drop all the silly nonsense. All you need:

Multi-vit
Fish oil
proper diet.

Extras to consider:
Whey protein
Creatine
BCAAs

I guarantee, you'll save a hell of a lot of money if you do some research ahead of time.

Oh, and a good lifting regimen. Something other than another ignorant body-part split.

I agree with Cynic. As for the Vitamin C packs, however, they are actually a very affordable source, and one of the best ways of obtaining that nutrient. I also take one a day to help replenish lost electrolytes (sodium, potassium, etc.) Speaking of, another easy and affordable way of replenishing needed electrolytes is to add a good quality salt to your meals. Celtic and/or sea salt used to be my choice of preference, but research has led me to himalayan crystal salt instead. The crystal salt is a little more "stable". Good luck to you...Pete

There is no yes/no answer to your question.

Taking anything can be harmfull if its done wrong.

Just take the advice that has been given and you'll be fine.

One of the many problems with taking too many different suppliments is that you may be doubling up on somthing with out knowing.

To a growing child...possibly.

In addition to Cynic's excellent advice, here's my two cents on the matter:

No explode for preworkout - complete and total crap
cell mass in mornings - too spendy - any $15 creatine monohydrate is fine
BCAAs aminos - excessive, protein powder already contains aminos
regular aminos - excessive, protein powder already contains aminos
glutamine3 times a day - total waste...zero research supports using this supp.
nitro tech oprotein - more expensive than it needs to be
300g protein a day - probably a bit excessive if he's bulking. carbs drive bulking more than protein. 1g protien per pound of total body weight should be plenty for bulking
512% of vitamin b12 - nuttin wrong with this
vitamin c packs 1110% of the DV in each packet - nuttin wrong with this

BCAAs aminos - excessive, protein powder already contains aminos

I'm not so sure about this. A lot of the top names, Charles Staley, Ian King, John Berardi, etc, have their athletes take BCAAs because the amino don't get processed by the liver and go straight to the muscle to prevent catabolism post workout.

I take it. Half dose before and half after with my PWO drink.

Cynic,

that may be. however, I don't consider myself an 'athlete' at this point...40 mins a day of training does not an athlete make.

but I will concede that BCAA's may not be a waste in some people...but would say it depends on level of training.

not always true.. i am allergic to milk (whey, cassein) so i have to take soy protein powders and does not contain amino acids like whey protein does.. so sometimes a BCAA is good
