Ok so I really didnt have a title for this one but this is sort of a follow up on my recent threads. I have been doing what you all have said, started running, counting calories etc. But Im going to add some photos of my belly just to give you a rough idea. Id just like to know. Is that really a pot belly? Or just let me know what you think about it etc.

..um..no. you look fine. That's not a pot belly. I can show you a real pot belly.

OK so thats that. How would I tighten that stomach up for muscle? Just keeep going on with my ab exercises?

It look slike you have very little definition in your torso. I'd suggest reading the sticky weight lifting threads in the exercise area ... especially the one titled "The Conceptual Side of Weight Lifting". It'll teach you about building a full body workout that will help you to build the definition you want.

Oh, and stand up straight. The slumping and rounded shoulders will make your abdomen push out. Straighten your back - you'll look a lot better.

Boy, you can damn-near see your ribs! [ lol ]

But if you want to "tighten it up", yeah I'm sure ab workouts would do. Are you trying to buff up? B/c quite frankly, you're skinny.

And if you are trying to buff up I would suggest eating a lot of protein and concentrate on doing intense strength training exercises, but for your whole body, not just abs.

If you're just looking to tighten up, you could focus on ab exercises and some high intensity resistance training, if you aren't into hitting the gym, even some great body weight exercises (push ups and body weight squats etc.) would be great.

Ab exercises alone, might help you tone up, but from experience, they often don't burn a lot of calories, and will only build your ab muscles a little bigger. If you want to see them showing through, you gotta focus on burning a point or two of body fat.

If you want to build muscle and bulk up, then it's a whole different ball game, you can do this with good bodyweight exercise, but it'd be much easier, and faster to get into a gym.

Good Luck,
Ryan
