I was wanting to add an oblique exercise, and I found this, dumbbell side bends.

I tried it a bit, and it felt okay, though I read some people mentioning it could cause injury. Obviously, anything could cause injury if you do it wrong, though is this exercise pre-disposed to cause back injury?
And if it is, what do you guys do for oblique exercise?
