is this consider cheating?

when i use the treadmill i set the incline to about 12 and hold on to the handles, now is this consider cheating or does it not effect the outcome of the workout? iv been getting a good sweat out of it, just wasnt sure if i should just keep my arms to the side of me instead of holding on. Thanks
 
The only thing that matters is where you want to get your HR. If your HR is at the rate you need it to be then its fine.
 
just watch you don't develop shin splints from a ton of running on treadmills.
