Is this at all sensible?

I started dieting 3 months, and I made the usual mistake of cutting my calories by a large amount (40%). I lost about 30 pounds in 2 months. However, I predictablly plateaued. Now that I joined these forums and realized my mistaken old-habits, I'd like to change them.

I'm thinking of doubling my work-out sessions while increasing my calorie intake by 30%. This should give me a reasonable deficit of 20%. Will this result in a healthier lifestyle and sustainable weight loss?

Thanks :)

The increased exercise should definitely help though I can't answer about the increase in cals as I don't know. How many would you say you are having at the moment?

Currently I'm having about 2200-2400 calories a day and work out 4 times a week doing 1-2 hours of cardio. Mostly moderate interval training. I am 6'4 and currently weigh 257.

Thinking of increasing my work-out intensity by, say, 500 calories per session, while increasing my intake for the days I work-out by about 200.
