Is this a good workout?

Starting off, I run on the treadmill at alternate inclines for 1 mile (about 10 minutes total), then do various weight machines for about 30 minutes at 2-3 reps of 10, 10 more minutes of cardio on the ellyptical, 60 crunches on the medicine ball and finally 10 minutes on the stairmaster. I like to switch it around! But is this an okay workout? I read somewhere that running gives you "ugly butt" and "thick thighs" but I'm only doing it for a mile and it's to burn belly fat and anything else that really jiggles.

I'm not overweight and never have been. I'm 5-5 and I weight 124, so I just want to stay lean and a little more sculpted! Thanks for ANY advice.

Running will not give you "ugly butt" and "thick thighs", eating poorly and not exercising does that!

A more effective plan might be to do your resistance exercise first, so you can concentrate all your energy on lifting the most you can with good form and then all your cardio continuously. You can do 10 minutes on the treadmill, followed immediately by 10 minutes on the eliptical and then 10 minutes on the stairmaster, or whatever combination you prefer, just don't rest in between so you are doing 20+ minutes of continuous cardio. You can do this every other day or 3 times a week, or do the resistance exercise on one day and the cardio alternate days if you would prefer to exercise 6 days a week, just be sure to take at least on day off a week for rest and recovery.

But, always remember, amost any execise is better than none and the best exercise routine for YOU is the one YOU will do consistantly for the long term!
