Is running appropriate for me

Hi this is abit of a personal matter but thought someone might know the answer. In may I had a vaginal prolapse repair (thats what happens when you have big babies) and a tension free tape put across my urethra to deal with stress incontinence (I said it was personal and embarrassing). i have made a full recovery and have gone back to the gym but i would like to start running again. the physio both pre and post op said running was unsuitable but the consultant didn,t say this although i didn,t ask her. My quality of life has improved so much since having the op i don,t want to undo the repair but used to really enjoy running. Most days i think the other forms of exercis ei am doing are enough but on others i really want to run. I do have a bicycle and could do that instead if i really can,t. Not having my next check up till january and would like an answer before then, any ideas. Thanks Joy

Well according to me running is very good for keeping you fit and healthy but you should do some light exercise with it.Only running is not enough.

It could not hurt to get a second opinion, but I would not recommend it. It has already been recommended against by an expert. Furthermore, based on the information I was able to find on this kind of surgery, it sounds like it is in its relative infancy (pun not intended). I wouldn't take the risk of messing anything up.
