Hey,
I am relatively new to fitness. I have been overweight for bout 10 years now, and wanted to get back in shape.
I bought a stationary bike last year, the ProForm 10.8X and it has a calories burned feature/heart rate monitor, but I am not all that sure if it is accurate.
I also bought a heart rate watch, the Sportline Cardio 630, but I am not sure if this is accurate too.
Here is what I did:
Bike: 5 min warm up.
25 min. Level 8/10 resistance at 15 mph
5 min cool down.
The bike said I burned 240 calories, but my watch said I burned 540.
The watch keeps track of your weight and height, but the bike does not. Which one is accurate? That is a huge difference.
Also if it helps I just had on my watch/chest strap while resting for 30 minutes after waking up and it says I burned 85 calories. This seems way high.
If it helps here is my stats:
Male.
25.
215 pounds.
Resting heart rate is 60-65.
During the workout my heart rate was 150-175.
Thanks!
