UGH!
Ive been working like a dog! Walking, useing the wiifit, not having any sweets, only one cup of coffee a day, WAY more water, (I use to not drink ANY) I literally feel like my days revolve around diet and exercise and I feel NO DIFFERENT! (Besides pissed off) :cuss:

How long does it take to notice a difference OR feel it? :ack2:

ANY and ALL advice will be deeply appericated!

Well, now that depends on just exactly how long "this long" is.

I lost more than 20 pounds in two months. And that was with only occasional exercise. The big factor there was dieting. Don't starve yourself, but eat healthy. I think when you do that, there's also less calories going in. I also started to drink water for the first time in years (I only drank soda), and that seemed to help.

I don't know, maybe it's just because I'm big, and it's probably easier for me to lose weight anyway. I know that I'm going to have to step up the exercise if I want to lose it faster.

Well, think of it this way...

It took you years to accumulate the weight that you have, so don't expect to lose it in a short period of time. It's not like cutting your hair; you can't just get rid of it all at once.

For me, I started to feel really different (in a good way) when my diet changed drastically. Adding LOTS of veggies and sticking to lean meat and whole grains made the biggest difference. Lots of water makes a huge difference too. I actually feel good from the inside out and full of energy. Sounds like you've made a really good start, but maybe have a look at everything that you're eating. Cutting out sweets is good, but refined sugar (and lots of other junk) is also lurking in almost all processed foods.

for me i used Bio-Liposuction and thermo-lean (these are diet pills) and i take thm 30 mins b4 i work out, my trainer told be that you should keep your heart rate at around 60% of ur maximum heart rate. to calcute late what ur heart rate is suppose to be at i got this little formula from my trainer, i dont completely understand it, but it seems logical. so the 220 - ur age = ur maximum heart rate (MHR)

fat burning is at 50%-65% of that Heart rate
so... MHR x .6 = Beats per minute (this is the rate u should keep ur heart rate at)

for example mine is:

220 - 19 = 201 MHR

201 x .5 = 101 BPM
201 x .65 = 131 BPM

so for me when i do my cardio work out i gotta kep my heart rate between 101BPM and 131BPM.

Hope this helps:D

length of time it takes to loose weight depends on a lot of factors, one of them being initial body weight and another being consistency. for example, it took me roughly 4 months for me to loose only 20 pounds but thats because i started at 160. also, during that 4 months i was consistent in tracking my calories (which was the most effective method for me) and watching what i eat. i admit its a lot of work, a lot of time, a lot of dedication... BUT SO WORTH IT!!! hope you dont give up!! you'll be glad u didnt :)

Today is "Day 13" and feels like day 113. :(
What's depressing is, I look at all these logs of what people are eating, and just the looks of it makes me cry. I couldnt imagine, one poached egg. Whaet bars, bran food. :ack2:

*Also, someone mentioned diet pills, I can NOT by any means take any kind of diet pills, per my Dr*

Do NOT take diet pills. Waste of time and money. Even ones that have been approved by the FDA are marginally effective at best.

I follow this issue in the press and I recall reading that recent studies have shown that diet is more important than exercise (though both are essential). It breaks down like this: consume fewer calories than you burn. Weight loss is the result. If I showed the me from a year ago my daily diet, I'd probably freak out.

If you are exercising and "eating right" but still not losing weight, then I hate to say it but you are probably not doing something right. Keep an accurate food diary, down to weighing fruit, meat servings, etc. and counting out things like crackers, cookies, etc. Do this for a week and see what your diet is really like, and also keep an accurate record of your exercise. Then it will be easier to see what the problem is and how to fix it.

also my trainter told me slow and long cardi is the best to loose weight fast... unno why

I've heard that too, but I've heard opposing views that purport "interval training" as the best weight loss tool.

interval training is something like this: jog 2 min to warm up, run fast 1 minute, jog 1 min, run fast 1 min... etc. I had a trainer tell me the other day that 10 minutes of this can do the same at 30 minutes of running.

as with everything, i'm sure it depends ont he person

I've lost more weight walking at about 2 miles-per-hour than I have doing intervals. I'm thinking I need to go back to a relaxing, moderate workout in the comfort of my basement with loud music as opposed to running my ass off around the neighborhood.

Agreed w/ the fact that it does depend on the person. My short little legs can't run real fast, haha. I lost 15 lbs one summer 'power walking' around my town with my mother at least 5 times a week, since she doesn't do 'jogging.' Ha

PILLS = NO, Waste of money and some of the stuff they add and actually works, is just a natural product like green tea..lol might as well drink green tea, it's cheaper and has no other crap in it.

FOOD = ^^; well I dont really eat healthily, at least I didnt at the start because was'nt appealing, what matters is keeping your calorie log and with a 200-400 kcal deficit, dont expect to lose more than 1lb a week.
I still eat chocolate pudding, ice cream, etc.. but as you exercise more and your body readapts, it tends to want more healthy food naturally? that's what I noticed for myself.

good luck! :)

oh hun I know I get frustrated too.

but you need to stay focus and not think of it like a ''diet'' but like a healthy life style. the changes you are making are for life- and chef is right, if it took us a life time to add all the pounds it is just natural that it will take a couple of months or more- to take them down.

yesterday was just my 5th day (of diet number 968708596707 lol) and I was so frustrated. then I reminded myself of the long journey ahead of me and that being healthy is the biggest reward- weight loss comes after!

don't starve yourself or overdo your exercise. think of each day at a time and not ahead- and also don't weight yourself every day- but every week or so. add some goals and work on them.

good luck! we are all together in this
