Is it possible to lose weight using tabata form of exercise?

I am 15 pounds above my weight class. I have got some love handles and belly fat that i would love to see go away. I hace currently started tabata exercises using circuit training assistant application. I have gradually been able to move from one 4 minute exercise to doing two 4 minute exercises daily. will this help me lose weight or should try to do more 4 minute exercises?
 
Burning more calories than you consume will help you loose weight. Make sure your eating is in check too. I like to aim for a minimum of 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity per week. Build to that gradually if you are not there yet. I love tabatas! I like doing work 20 seconds rest 10 seconds for resistance training. What are you doing during your tabatas?

I am following circuit training assistant android application. Normally consists of pushups, burpees, lunges, crunches.
 
I agree with the people above say. Increase your exercise or expenditure compared to your intake. Lately I've been aiming to burn 500 calories a day from exercise.
That equals to 500cals x 7 =3,000cals
500grams = 3,850
So you should lose close to half a kilo per week.

Obviously the bigger you are you might lose a little bit more.

Yes it is possible. Is it possible to lose weight using tabata form of exercise? If you want to add tabata to your weight workout, simply pick four barbell exercises that you can easily transition between. Perform the first exercise for as many reps as you can in 20 seconds, rest 10 seconds, then perform the second exercise as fast as possible for 20 seconds. Rest for 10 seconds, and repeat this process for the remaining exercises.
 
Tabata will surely help you lose your love handles and belly fat, but you should keep in mind that this, just like any other HIIT protocols, is a a very high in intensity and it is not suitable for everyone. If you are a beginner you should start at your own fitness level and work your way up to it.

So, it depends on your fitness levels. If you are really fit you can do more than one session of Tabata with 1 minute of rest between the sessions.

Warming up and cooling down is crucial since this is a very intense workout. Keeping this in mind makes the Tabata more than a 4 minutes workout.
