Is it possible to lose 2 stone by Dec 23rd if i eat 1200-1400 cals a day and exercise about 4 times a week? I currently weigh 228 pounds and would like to weigh 200 pounds by Dec 23rd

Or do i need to exercise more to get to this goal?

You need to do both in my opinion. An active lifestyle and sensible, balanced diet does wonders for weight loss. I can't say for sure that you will lose 2st on your planned calories (I'm not a calorie counter, personally, so I don't really know what sort of effect that number would have), however it's perfectly possible to lose your goal amount if you put the effort in.

I myself have lost a stone and a half in 2 months so if you are determined and dedicated to your goal there is no reason why shouldn't get there :) Good luck!

It's possible, but I really don't think it's a good idea (it would be 3.5 pounds a week which is too much at your weight). You would need to really exercise extremely hard or cut calories pretty drastically to lose that much weight. 18 pounds over that time frame would be the upper end of what I would try.

There's a weight loss simulator at this link, if you want to play with it. You can enter in your stats, your goal weight and how many days you want to take to get to it, and it will tell you how many calories you need to eat.

Losing this much of weight quickly is not advisable. Experts recommend losing no more than 2 pounds a week, preferably 1 pound a week.

By losing weight quickly you would be losing it majorly from water and muscle mass. Muscles are fat burning tissues and you need to keep as much muscles as possible to increase your fat loss. What you should aim for is to lose pounds from your fat cells, which can happen when you lose weight slowly.

So, for long term results I recommend that you give it time and plan to lose weight slowly.
