i know fasting is not good nor is leaving the stomach empty for several hrs. in the morning i usually have a carnation instant breakfast with skim milk which is 150 calories. then for lunch a can of tuna with a couple fiber tablets (170 calories) to help suppress my appetite, then in the afternoon will have some tomato soup, (about 200 calories)
then a turkey wrap and some salad (300 calories) for diinner and sometimes more soup (another 200). then usually a yogurt before bed if im still hungry. i am finding myself still hungry even tho it seems like im eating every few hrs. but i wont allow myself to eat more for fear of losing control and losing the progress i have made. so should i eat more or less? is it hurting my body if i ignore my hunger since i am eating all these times in a day?

oh and my stats if needed: 5'5", 150 pounds, large framed

Well from what I see, I only counted around 1000 calories, I would have another small meal, And sometimes you have to listen to your body, if its hungry drink 16 oz of water and have a small snack and you'll be fine. I woudn't recommend carbs before bed, you don't have to listen but thats how I do it. I don't know if you like cottage cheese but it is an excellent prebed snack. If you starve yourself then theres a much larger chance that you'll break down one night, and then the next and then the next etc. etc. Its ok to have food, just don't overdo it. I don't think 1000 calories is enough but thats just me, hope I helped, keep up the will power!

I would suggest adding in about 200 more calories. I have heard if you consume fewer than 1200 your body goes into starvation mode and actually stores the food you eat! Also about the hungary part it looks to me your diet mainly contains fluids. I don't know about you but fluids don't fill me up for too long! Try eating something a little more filling. Hope this helps!

thanks i will add in 200 calories somewhere. as far as the yogurt, what else can i snack on before bed that is sweet but no carbs? i always get sweet craving at night and so instead of cookies i thought yogurt was safe.

lol everything sweet is carbs, I still would recommend cottage cheese. but I have no suggestions really lol, if you do have carbs before bed just dont get slow acting ones like brown rice, or oatmeal. If you get a good tasting protein shake it tastes like cocoa chocolate lol. champion nutrition sells a good tasting one that tastes like chocolate milk. If your eating a night time snack try to keep it under like 15 grams. Ive heard some people mix their protein shake with cottage cheese and act like its pudding. but I havent tried it lol. good luck on your snack finding, lol.

no,it's not ok to ignore hunger,i mean totally...it's not normal, your body will suffer, try eating so you won't feel hungry anymore...

Uhm, my opinion, and this is only an opinion, is that if you can't control hunger you won't control weight. If I gave in to hunger I never would have lost a pound. Maybe some people can listen to their bodies close enough to know what it needs, but my body says that it needs a lot more food then I know it does. Therefor I listen to the list of what I've eaten for the day vs. what kind of activity I've done/going to do.

Eat raw veges whenever you are hungry in between meals. I eat them all day, I'm always hungry, not starving, just hungry. I am really active and constantly on the go so I like to snack. Can't really put on weight from eating raw veges.

I've never understood how people can just have one of those breakfast shakes in the morning and be able to survive until lunch. I mean, a protein shake made at home I could do. But those Carnation drinks, to me, are just like drinking a glass of chocolate milk and calling it a meal. Though, it would be a big time saver in the morning.

I don't understand it either. However I guess it is sometimes the best option for some people or an option until they change other parts of their day or lifestyle.

Anything like that I don't bother with. I try my best to eat foods in their natural state, raw or live from the vege garden. We try to catch our own fish and mud crabs etc. It's not just about weightloss, it's about health, skin, beauty, energy and the effect on your mind.

However, I also have a lot more time on my hands than other people and access to a lot of organic foods. But something like that would not fill me up for long. I always find foods closer to their raw state keep me full for longer and make me feel better.

In my experience, if you are eating enough, the hunger is only there for 2 days or so. Once I got past that point I could eat much lower calories and not get too hungry, except sometimes right before dinner -- which can be expected I think.
