Is it better to workout in the morning or afternoon?

Im kinda confused, i tend to run in the morning but i just hate waking up at 8:30 am to get on the treadmill. So im just gonna run at 7:00 pm now since ill be more hydrated and energized by that time. Im 17 and i see my treadmill as my savior, lol.

Im having a hard time picking up a workout i can use, im 5'4, and 185 pounds. Right now im doing this work out that goes like this.

5 min: 4.0 mph
5 min: 5.0-5.1-5.2-5.3-5.4
5 min: 4.0 mph
5 min: 5.5-5.6-5.7-5.8-5.9
5 min: 4.0 mph
5 min: 6.0-6.1-6.2-6.3-6.4-6.5

Thats pretty much a 30 minute workout and very good. What do ya think? Let me know cause i suck at tryna lose weight on treadmills. Im not that badly out of shape and i dont look 185 pounds, i guess its cause i got a thick lower body, im a male just in case ya got curious.:)

From what I've learned here, if you're trying to lose weight it is better to do your cardio in the morning before you eat. It forces your body to use stored fat instead of the calories you've been eating throughout the day. It is still ok to do your running at night, but it won't be as effective for weight loss. Hope this helped. :)

Form past experiences it is much better to do you work out in the morning. Cause you will feel a burst of energy when you do this. You will equally feel refreshed and more like an enegizer bunny.

I know it can be a bit of a chore and some mornings it can be a pain but once you get into it you wont look back.

For some one starting off then yep that is quite good. But after a while when you body gets used to it you might want to be on the tread for a longer time and maybe you can just run at one speed as well.

Coz I usually do 7.2mph for 20 mins then have a 5 min cool down.

Personally i hate working out in the morning, im not the morning sort lol, probably because my whole life i've started training in the afternoon and never really utilised for the morning for training, unless im doing two runs in a day and want sometime to recover during the day!

On another note, i find it far easier to run outside for long periods than on a treadmill, after 30 mins on a treadmill im bored stiff, whereas, if you go out exploring into the hills (take a map/compass) and you can cruise runs well in excess of an hour without getting bored! :D
