Sport Is he anorexic?

Sport Fitness
I have a very serious question. I have been dating this guy since July and I've noticed that he barely eats. Let me list a typical weekend day for him:

Morning-Big bowl of cereal
Lunch-Bowl of chx noodle soup
Snack-some chips and nuts.
Snack-Apple and some dried fruit
Dinner-Fish and potato

Now I know it doesn't look like he's starving but these aren't the biggest portions. I keep track of everyting I eat on fitday and one day I kept track on what he ate for the day and it came out to a little over 1000 calories! That includes the calories he got from the grape juice he drinks. Not only is he male but he's also about 6' tall and pretty active (we hike and bike every day).

I don't like overreacting to situations and putting labels on things but I'm starting to think that maybe he has a problem. At first I just figured that he's not a heavy eater and that his stomach has shrunk (which I'm sure is what happened) but sometimes I'm just so surprised that he's living on what he does! He's also really really skinny! I'm not sure how much he weighs (around 145-155 pounds) but his legs are like toothpicks! I've NEVER seen legs this skinny.

I also want to point out that there was this one time when we didn't do anything active for like a week cause it was so hot and humid out. We were talking about how much it sucked and he was like "Yeah, I'm starting to feel fat". Kindof weird to hear from a guy who is so rail thin. Later on I asked him about it and he said he was joking.

Ok, I guess that's all I can think of for now. I feel bad for him sometimes because he wears baggy clothes to hid the fact he's so thin. Does anyone have any kind of experience with a guy like this? Let me also point out that it's not his genes! His brother and parents are of normal weight and are capable of putting on weight (his brother might be more on the chubby side). I just don't know if he has no will to eat or if he has some kind of mental problem with this. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! If there are any questions that might help I'll be happy to answer them! If anyone has anything really personal to ask or share feel free to pm me. Thanks!

You obviously love him for who he is. How old is he? it is very tpypical for youngish guys to get into an eating pattern and not be able to get out of it. Just give him more food. I havnt really got much experience with this but thats the only suggestions i got.

hmmm im pretty thin i weigh 11.6 stone and im 6ft maybe 6.1 some ppl just born thin and find it hard to eat, and just cant get out of it. im trying tho weights/etc but im young and lazy, find it hard to keep up with all the healthy foods/weights etc,

I don't think he's anorexic either. Not eating enough, sure, but that's just from a poor diet.

its not to say he doesn't 'think' he is fat, and is under-eating to try to lose weight. but he hasn't hit anorexia yet.

maybe invite him here, and he can see how he should be eating to fuel his lifestyle.

Thank you so much for everyone's advice. To tell you the truth I ruled out him being anorexic or having an eating disorder a while ago. The other day I was talking to someone about it and they put the idea back in my head. I still think there MIGHT be a possibility that he is but who really knows. I will say that he really doesn't know much about nutrition or anything like that. He tries to be healthy by drinking lots of green tea, having flax seeds in things and taking so many damn vitamins and supplements. But when it comes to proteins, carbs, fats and calories he has no idea. When I told him he only had like 1000 calories that one day I thought he would freak out about how little it was. But instead he was like "That sounds like a lot" lol....I told him that as a 5'6'' female I lose weight on 1500-1600 calories. He was really surprised by that.

I really do think his stomach is the size of a fist. He barely drinks any water too. After we bike I'll down like 2 bottles and he'll have like half of one at most  But alas, I can't get him to drink more let alone eat more. Sometimes I have to remind him to have dinner! I guess there's only so much I can do :(

did you ask him what he thinks about how he looks and how he eats? part of being anorexic is the idea one puts in their head that they are fat. its not usually something that just occurs, he has to put effort into not eating like when he really wants to eat. but you mentioned that you had to remind him to eat dinner? that probably means he wasnt purposely leaving it out. he just really didnt feel hungry. so if he wasnt purposely leaving it out, hes not anorexic. maybe have him go to a doctor to see if there are any medical problems though. it does seem weird for one to forget about a meal. or at least for me, that idea is crazy because im always hungry lol. i hope hes ok, good luck!

oh and i know a guy thats rather thin and doesnt eat much. hes like 29. hes completely fine though, just how he is. the guy you are talking about sounds like he might be even thinner tho, so im not sure.
