Sport Is diet soda bad for you?

I feel weird asking this considering the fact that I started the "have you given up soda?" thread, But my wife brought home some diet coke plus and I was wondering if it is Bad for you? As long as you don't let it take the place of drinking enough water would it keep you from your fitness goals?

I've heard mixed reviews about it, being good because its waaaaay better than regular soda(with ALL the sugar), and being bad because of a sweetener called Aspartame(read up on that). I cannot give a definite answer, but I personally do not drink soda at all, I'm more of a cold Iced Tea(the powder mix) person, which also is not too healthy :(
 
Yeah I guess that aspartame isnt too good...causes cancer, brain tumors, seizures, exploding balls syndrome and everything else... I was an avid (regular) soda fan until i realized it turns you into a fat ****...kick it like any other bad habit, its no good...water water water is key! and beer, beer is good
 
Yeah i'll just stick to my water and green tea. It seems to me too that if Istart drinking diet it would be easier to start drinking regular again. Thanks.
 
Dont forget the PH of the soda melts the enamel on teeth . So make sure you dont drink it all the time or your teeth will rot :(
 
None of the carbonated drinks are good for you in any way. But I'm a great believer in moderation. So my answer would be - depends on how much you drink?

If it's like me once in three months - then it ain't that bad. If you drink a liter a day, than you're better off without it.

I'd say if you can give it up - do!
 
Yea give the **** up, it does nothing for ya! Just drink it in moderation like meeee :D

Drink Vodka, lager, and cider tho :)

Alcohol for life.
