is creatine for me

hey, im 15, gone through puberty, been there, done that, and i play football. i've been lifting for a few months now and have gained 15 pounds of muscle and lost a lot of fat, but I'm still pretty small for my league. I'm 5'6'', 125 lbs. The biggest guy on the team is 6'4'', 225lbs, and the guys i want to overpower are about 160lbs. I'm looking to be about 140lbs, while retaining my cut body, so I'm wondering, is creatine for me?

Sure, why not? Creatine isn't a steriod. All it does is help with muscle recovery which in turn will allow for more muscle gain.
Go with good creatine though, there is a lot of crap out there.
I just started taking Kre-Alkalyn, it's supposed to be absorbed better than regular creatine.
It can't really hurt you, unless you have kidney problems or a weak stomach.

Yeah look for a product with "creapure", Creatine Monohydrate on it. That's all you need.

If you take creatine everyday you will easily put on 10lbs but most of it will be water weight. Of course, like bloc said it will increase recovery and give you an extra boost in the weight room.

Personally i follow the 3g post work shake protocol. I just take 3grams with my whey + dextose after a workout. 3 to 4 times a week. I don't want water weight has i'm already 220lbs.

I drink a lot of water so i think that should be good, and I'm gonna pick some Creatine Monohydrate up tomorrow, and maybe some of that other stuff, I don't know I'll check it out, thanks guys

Newf, you bring up a good point.
"If you take creatine everyday you will easily put on 10lbs but most of it will be water weight."
This happened to me I think. I bought creatine powder (cheap stuff with alot of filler sugar) about 1 month ago and I gained like 5 lbs in a week. I was 150 at the begining of september, now I'm 155 (empty stomach). I've started doing HIIT on my off days, should I loose some of this water weight through cardio? Should I even take creatine on my off days? I take like 5 - 11g of creatine a day, should I cut back? .. lol.

5grams is all you need a day supposely. I got the advice from a strength coach on t-nation about just using it after a workout, Actually 2 different coaches use that approach. They use it for recovery and strength primarily where as you can easily put on weight using it everyday but i don't want extra weight. I just started to do it so i don't know how it will effect me.

Man, I gotta cut it down. I was taking one before and one after, and than one on off days too. Lol, no wonder I gained almost 7 lbs. As long as it just water weight though.. I'll sweat that **** out on some cardio.

Read the post RIGHT BEFORE yours. 3-5g daily.

if you drink a lot of water and take creatine consistantly, you can easily gain a quick 10 pounds of water weight right? Well, will the water weight make you look more buff, and not more fat? Also, define "a lot" of water, because i wouldn't mind putting on a quick 10 pounds even if it is just water weight, cuz that probably would probably motivate me more.

there have been no studies to prove there is significant water weight gained, nor has it tracked how many pounds.

Also, many people report they gain no weight during a creatine loading phase, so it's possible that water retention in the muscle is a 'side effect' only experienced in some of the population taking creatine.
Those who do report weight gain say it doesn't make them look fat, just a little fuller.

If you want an artificial muscle pump to motivate you, try any NO2/Nitrix/Nitrous product out there. They'll give you a fake pump, but it still won't beat the pump you get from lifting heavy weight, low reps with perfect form and muscle contraction.
