I'm going to start Cohen's in a couple of weeks and am now curious as to whether Cohen's is similar to SouthBeach or Atkins?

I tried both and just couldn't stick with it so am very worried I won't be able to stick with Cohen's (if it's the same) and will waste the money.

What's the difference between them and for those of you who have tried the others... why are you having success on Cohen's??

Lee,

Cohens is not similar to anything. It's a whole thing of it's own.

May I suggest you go have a look at their website and see what it's all about.

the program Cohens is closest in comparison to is Sureslim, but that is not as good as.

the weightloss on Cohens is far superior to anything I've ever tried, and you feel fantastic doing it.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately neither websites actually tell you much about the program(s) at all, other than it's a metabolism thing. That's why I asked if it was another lowcarb/high protein diet. Even when I rang the Cohen's office they said I'd have to come to an introduction and see and wouldn't mention much about it at all. Guess I'll just have to do it and see for myself. :)

Hi Starshine, I'm in WA too and went to the Booragoon clinic. Don't waste another second even thinking about it, just go and check it out for yourself! I have been on every single diet/program under the sun and NOTHING has ever worked for me. On this program in 5 weeks I have lost 9.5 kgs!!! It is melting off! I can't speak highly enough of it!!

haven't updated my ticker yet!!

Hmm, Lee, I see your problem.

Seriously, it's a little difficult to explain in a post, run as fast as you can to the clinic and watch the video presentation. THAT way, you can ask questions of those qualified to answer them, at the time.

There was no pressure when I went for my initial interview. Sue was quite happy for me to leave and 'think about it'. What an idiot I was, that means it's an extra 3 days till I'll finish :p

Hi Lee,

Cohens is kind of low carb, but not super strict. I get 5 crackers a day and I get 2 pieces of fruit. Everyones programs are different though so you might get more, or you might get less. Each meal is made up of protein and veges in varying amounts (depending on your program). You have to have blood tests every 4 weeks to check how you are going and to help Dr Cohen to make your refeed program at the end. The refeed slowly reintroduces the foods that have been eliminated during the program, and also increases the quantities of food you eat. This allows your body to stabilise and get used to eating "normally" again and also to keep the weight off.
Hope this helps a bit.

rjmThanks heaps, that info helps alot. I was worried it would be too carb restricting. When on the other low carb diets I found all I did all day was think about carbs.
MellyP I'll be going to the Booragoon clinic as well as I'm from Dwellingup. Can't wait to start!

asyozI'm waiting for a McHappy day voucher for the program I won on eBay before I go. I'm ready to join and have thought about it for a long time. I'm starting to get quite excited about the whole thing.

Thanks again for all the info.

I bid on and won a voucher on eBay which pays for the program. It was used to raise money for McHappy Day, by a centre in NSW. So can't wait for it to get here so I can go to Booragoon and start. :)

Is it transferrable? I thought it was donated by the Mildura Clinic?

The ebay ad says it has to be taken at the Mildura clinic and can be done by phone or email...

But I guess you checked that out and they'll transfer?
