Sport Inverted Sugar Syrup - eh?

Sport Fitness
Hey all.

I was looking throught the snack section of Britains favourite health food shop (TM) and started looking for the no-no ingredients.

A lot of things we claiming to be non hydro vegetable oil, great. However, many of the same things (flapjacks, nut bars) contained Inverted Sugar Syrup.

When i googled this it doesnt sound that bad; but im sure ive heard its not exactly healthy and the name alone sounds like it should be avoided. However, is this one to be avoided like trans fats or is occasionally ok?

anyone know more than google?

thanks
ben

Generally, stay away from anything "manmade", especially sugar. I didn't google "Inverted", but it sounds like a fancy word for junk.

Even with hydrogenated oil, some companies are getting smart: They will slightly change the process of hydrogenation for the purpose of eliminating the "hydrogenated" label from their product, however, the end product is just as bad....Pete

I bet its similar, if not identical, to high fructose corn syrup.

it just gets called something else in the UK maybe?

Russ might know...
