Introduction and Backstory.

Hey all. My name is Max. And I'm here to get back in shape - yes I said 'back' in shape. See, I once had it all and lost it.

I was a very active child. I played football, basketball and rugby. I began karate and kick-boxing at a young age, became the top of the class - mostly down to the others dropping out admittedly! And eventually had a nice job teaching MMA 3 times per week at that venue.

From here I went on to becoming a boxing instructor and included gym sessions with small groups in my local area. I have never been a one-on-one personal trainer, but I know how to give advice if anybody needs some in this area.

However, a mere 2 years ago I fell into depression due to a very tragic incident which I am not here to discuss. I stopped everything. Not only that, but I started not giving a damn about my eating or my appearance. I felt as though it was all for nothing. And my body suffered.

I am now 6 foot 4 inches tall - which is odd as I used to be a solid 6'5, didn't know that could happen.
And I weight 17st 6b (112 kg)

And it is stomach and thigh fat. My biceps aren't terrible but they are nothing like they used to be.
I want to get back in shape. And I am determined to do it.

There is a list of things which will distract me from this. I used to have a lot of free time as I was a student and my course encouraged working out - it was actually mandatory. Now I work two jobs, one in retail and one at a local pub, which can total up to as much as 14 hours work per day. Time is a problem.

Secondly, believe it or not while I am not vegetarian I have a huge fondness for animals and try to limit the amount of animal products I consume. I eat vegetarian replicas of food on a regular basis. This has worked well for me all my life and therefore is not something I am willing to compromise.

Finally, as annoying as this is - I still have down days. Even after 2 years I will sometimes wake up feeling very shaken and upset. Those days it is impossible for me to get my mind into working out. This happens less frequently now so I am hoping it will soon stop completely.

Thank you everyone if you bothered to read all of this. I will try and visit this website when I can but as I mentioned I do work a lot and may not always have time. If you need advice from somebody who has a lot of experience, I will do my best to help you.
