Hello all, I just joined so this is my introduction. I am 26, from the midwest and am getting married in a year. I've struggled with weight my entire life and have always looked "chunky" or very squat-- because I am only 5'2.. my weight has varied from 110 to 165 (now). My main issues are that when I get bored, I will eat. Also for the last two years, my diet has literally consisted of soda, junk food and chips.. I mean, every once in a while we would think to ourselves that we (my fiance and I) should eat healthy but that would only last a few months.. then back to soda (mountain dew, pepsi) and junk food for every single meal. So I have always had a huge beer belly, three chins, and thunder thighs. Two months ago I got serious about it-- decided to join a gym, eat healthy and get this weight off.
Unfortunately, I've only lost like 5 pounds (but it may be because I've built muscle) so I am hoping it starts to come off more, pretty soon. I have severely reduced my calories (from around 5,000 (or so) per day to only about 1700... but it still isn't coming off.
I've joined in the hopes of getting some pointers of what to do when I feel bored and want to reach for food, and then experiences with others who haven't really lost a lot of weight when they first start changing their life.
Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself and I am happy to be here!
