So, I'm taking a health class and I logged onto a program I thought was going to be pretty cool (it's a program the school requires me to log onto it's called "nutrition calc 3.0" and you have to register with them.), but it turns out to be not quite what I hoped. It's telling me that if I want to gain 1 pound a week with a "sedentary" lifestyle, that I should be eating almost 3000 calories a day if I weight 138 and am 5ft 10in. and am 19 years old
To me, this seems absolutely ridiculous. There's no way I can eat that much! Granted I haven't been doing very well on my current regimen, is it plausable that I'd really have to eat that much, not to mention I DONT have a sedentary lifestyle for the amount of exercise I do (which was vaguely described as "very active") it said I should be taking in 3837 calories a DAY!
Did I miss something huge here? I don't have that much room in my stomach to gain one pound in a week. I'm not sure I even have that much food in my fridge!
