INSANITY Journal

Hey guys, just found this site and my INSANITY workout just arrived today. I want to use this to monitor my progress as well as motivate me to actually stick with it and enjoy this workout.

A bit about me...I'm 28 years old, and a current grad student at a local university. I work nights in the ER here and go to school most days as well as interning at the Medical Examiners office and am a teaching assistant for my professor. It sounds like alot on my plate because it is, however I do have at least an hour each day that I can do this so there SHOULD be no excuses on my part.

I decided to try the INSANITY workout because 1. tired of paying gym memberships 2. the nearest gym is a 30 mile round trip and 3. wanted to try something different. Working nights threw off my diet, workout habits, basically everything however its the only way I can continue going and afford to pay bills.

I started working here 3 years ago and was 209lbs. Now I am 245lbs I stand 6'0'' so I do not look very overweight clothed but I am. I plan to start tomorrow logging what I eat, drink and how the workout is and what it consists of for other members to read before they decide to do this.

Hopefully this kicks my ass in a good way. Tomorrow I'll post the pre-insanity pictures and details of the workout. After that pictures will be every 2 weeks and the details will be daily.

Ok so the Fitness test kicked my ass...but I sort of figured it would have since I'm out of shape. I started off ok then I just got winded. cardio is huge in this and I know it will improve mine.

SWITCH KICKS - 65 (front leg kicks)
POWER JACKS - 35 (exaggerated jacks...deep knee bends)
POWER KNEES - 70 (similar to muay tai knee in clinch, but very very very fast)
POWER JUMPS - 20 (spent by this point...sad)(jumps with mid air knee raises)
GLOBE JUMPS - 8 (similar to previous exercise but with clockwise rotation 4 jumps = 1)
SUICIDE JUMPS - 7 (up downs from football)
PUSH UP JACKS - 15 (push ups with jumping jack twist)
LOW PLANK OBLIQUE - 27 (push up position on elbows with lateral knee raises)

I did this 30 minutes after I woke up. Had a granola bar. Gotta shower and go to work. Taking with me chicken and broc. and basa fish and rice for meals with a shake and granola bar in between. I MUST STAY OUT OF THE CANDY DRAWR IN THE ER.....WISH ME LUCK...no more soda/coffee from now on too. Just water and powerade zero. and an occasional juice here and there.

Okay so I'm on my way home from work and my ****ing rear right tire blew...so I had to deal with that the last 3 hrs. I didn't get to work out because of it. So tomorrow it begins...PISSED

bummer, I was looking forward to your posts. My husband and I also just ordered the Insanity workouts. Our DVDs work and we tried it out before taking our holiday vacation (they are tough), but we will seriously start it sometime in the next week or so when we get back into regular schedule.

Hope you get your DVD situation worked out.

yea dont buy of ebay...lol I got my money back and was able to keep the dvds. I have p90x but don't care for it. I think I will order INSANITY thru their website this time.

We found it on a different website for like $80 instead of the full price. Dunno if it was a holiday deal or not, but I'd suggest looking around online some.

Well it just came in the mail got a new one for 69 bucks and it works...so it starts tomorrow
