Hey! I'm trying to get some quick results and I have the time if I make it. I am doing Insanity every morning (6-6:45) and going to the gym after work around 6:30 for about 1-1.5 hours. One off day for yoga/stretching. I'm doing 1200-1500 calories a day. Do I need more?

Ready to melt some pounds. Any advice will help :)

I know that is so much to read but I really hope to find people who are as dedicated and goal-oriented as me :)

Yes you need more calories! WebMD has a great tool to help you calculate how many calories you should be eating per day. Go to their site and search for the BMI Plus Calculator. Answer the few questions and submit...then when your results show up click on the calories tab.

Doing 2 a day workouts can be brutal on your body if you are not eating enough to fuel the workouts and aid in recovery afterward. You will be surprised at the amount of calories they will tell you, you need to lose 2 lbs a week. But you can eat those calories without a lot of fat! It's about the quality of the foods you're eating.

I have tried insanity it's tough! SO more power to you girl for doing that when you wake up and more at the end of the day! Do't forget to stay hydrated w at least 2L of water/day. Limit other beverages bc there are a lot of calories consumes in drinks that you don't realize you're getting. Eat every 2-3 hours a protein, complex carb, and a veggie of some sort...Hope this helps :) I've got a lot of information in my head when it comes to fitness so pick my brain any time!

Lola ~ Thank you so much for the information. I did the test. It reassured me that my BMI is overweight (28.1) Not TOO far away from a healthy range!! And it said I need about 1600 to lose 2lbs a week so not TOO far off from what I have been getting. I used "Moderately Active".. When I switched to "Very Active" it suggested 1900. So I'll plan to stay between that range.

I previously did a VERY LOW calorie diet and it really taught me a lot about food and how my body reacts to different items.

That BMI thing is great! I learned about my heart rate too! I've tried to fimd my BPM at the gym but the machines reports are sketchy. I cannot wait to get paid on Friday to stock up my pantry and get a heart rate monitor.

I've only been drinking water/coffee/tea occasionally a diet soda if I am craving it (rarely).

I just did my 1st day of insanity this morning, the fit test was yesterday. YES it is freaking insane! I give my self a 5/10 for effort, there was a lot of time I rested or paused the video. I am also a smoker so I could really feel the difficulty breathing. Lucikly, even though I sucked I DID finish the 45 minutes and I can't wait for a few weeks when I can get through a full workout, I may have to do 2 rounds which I didn't expect.

I actually just watched a video on team beach body where Shaun T answered a girls question bc she was in her 4th week of insanity, eating clean, and had not seen any results on the scale. Basically he said make sure you're eating enough, keep track of other measurable goals (like getting better at the fit test or pants getting looser), and remember that every body is different and more than one round may be needed...which made me think of you! So hang in there, you got this girl!

Not sure if you are on FB or not, but I have a Beach Body Summer Slim Down Challenge group that starts on Monday the 18th. PM me if you would like more information about it.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Lola. I've been learning a lot about my calorie intake and surprisingly it's much more than I've planned for. It's tough to eat more when I'm really not hungry.

When I woke up this morning my pants fit tighter, I was down 1.2 for the week but I was so surprised to have to struggle with my pants. I chalked it off to me just washing the pants and being fresh out of the shower (damp skin), so hopefully I'll start noticing a change.

I'm realizing, even with combining the gym that I may end up doing 2 rounds of insanoty

So how is Insanity going? I bought it 2 years ago when I was in much better shape. Although I was always afraid to do it cause I live in an apartment building and didn't want to bang too much and knock stuff over in my neighbor below! I am moving and in a much better position to do some Insanity, but I have put on weight, so I want to take it slow and not jump right into Insanity... are you seeing results?

Well not to high jack the thread but I'm on my second to the last week of insanity. So far I have lost 20lbs. And my pants have gone from a size 34 to a 32. And the 32 are a little loose on me still. It is hard and you have to stay dedicated. I bought it about 2 years ago as well and started it and got sided tracked with life and never finished the first month. And then tried many times to come back to it. But this time I have not let anything stop me. I have pushed through and it has shown. Even if you start out slow and take breaks its ok. You go at your own pace. But watching the people on the tv do it makes you want to push yourself a little harder. And the more I do and the harder I push the more I see results. You have to make sure you stay dedicated and try to push yourself. If you have any questions let me know. Sorry again for thread jacking.

Hey Jmann - thanks - that exactly what I need to hear! Positive Results! And congrats for getting through so much. I am going to start it sooner rather than later.

I'm doing Insanity as well atm, second week of phase 2.
I'm loving the program.
So much so that I'm planning to start up a P90X/Insanity hybrid after I finish.

JustMe1381, Just try the fittest and see how you do with that, I think you can make a good chocie if Insanity is something you can and should be doing now.
If you do start, listen to the advice that is given, If you need to rest, rest. If your form goes bad, rest. Take waterbreaks. If you feel pain and discomfort (wel real pain and discomfort off course, no pain no gain :p )?: Stop.
