Increasing vertical jump

I was wondering if anyone has any great ways for increasing their vertical? I am a long 6'4 170lb and I can just hardly touch a 10ft rim. At the gym I do calf raisers with the leg press and also do leg press, but its kind of limited because my left knee is still kind of hurt from a wierd injury last year. There is no pain, just akwardness with it. What other exercises and things can you do to increase vertical other than calf raisers, leg press, and squats? Do you think its possible I could be dunking by summer? Thank you for any advice you have!
 
i don't know much about basketball trainking, but i did see my friends in high school tie themselves to the ground with some rubber bands and do a lot of resistance jumping ...
 
Sounds crazy:) My one friend claims that he use to wear ankle weights under his jeans everyday to school. Do you think adding ankle weights to my running would help at all? Thanks.
 
you are training for strength when what you need is power!

If you want to be explosive you must train in that manner too!

You need to work strength in combination with speed and explosiveness. Try jumping squats, plyometric calf jumps, and speed training.
