Sport Increasing Metabolism What Foods to eat or snack on?

Sport Fitness
Just like the title says. I guess im trying to get a grocery list together so I buy the right foods. I know not just foods on my metabolism and trust me alot of cardio is in plan.

cardio will increase cal expenditure but not metabolism...wt training will do that so i would focus on that...some foods have a thermic effect on the body but has been questioned lately though...just focus on protein (red meat, poultry, fish, tuna etc, yoghurt, dairy, eggs etc) and fruit for morning meals and protein and veg (not spuds) for evening meals and lots of water...be sure to eat the foods you like though or you'll never stick to it and frequent meals is aso another one for metabolism aiming for at least 5 a day evenly spaced and evenly portioned

Here are some tips to help you. I agree with Swan... you need to add in weight training. Lots of cardio is rarely the answer.

1) Eat 5-6 small meals throughout the day. Each meal should be 2-3 hours apart. Each meal should contain one protein and one carb. The first meal should be eaten within an hour after waking.

2) Drink a cup of water at each meal.

3) Rest properly. This means taking at least 48 hours between strength training the same muscles, and it also means getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Lastly, it means taking 1-2 days off from exercising per week.

4) Cardio. This should be done at different intensity levels and different session lengths. Consider doing a low intensity/long session, a high intensity/short session and a few medium intensity/medium length sessions.

5) Strength Training. Strength train each muscle 1-3 times per week. You should lift a proper weight and perform the proper amount of sets/reps for your strength training method. If you need more guidance or exercise ideas you can head over

All of the above things combined will result in fat loss. Good foods are chicken, turkey, cottage cheese, spinach, berries, fruits, almonds, all veggies, sweet potatoes, Kashi GoLean cereal, whole wheat breads... basically anything unprocessed.

nahh i dont put anything on it

just out of the can into my body

today ive ate

oatmeal
tuna
glass of green tea
alot of water

Well if thats all you've eaten/dranken in about 3-4 hrs, yes that's fine, but if that's for the whole day, lol then no.

Just to add, tuna with lite tomato sauce is nice :)

Tuna with mustard and dill relish is FABULOUS... and get the one in spring water instead of oil if you are looking to shed a few pounds which most of us are...;)

ive gone down 4 lbs so far
you know a lil sore from lifting
