Sport Increasing calorie intake.

Sport Fitness
Do I start raising it up slowly? I remember when you lower it you had to do it slowly but what about raising it? I ask this because over the last year and a half I've lost like 60 pounds and weigh about 145-150, so now I'm just going for the maintenance calories for my weight now, but don't want to raise them too quickly.

Yes, I guess the same thing would apply. However, APPLY, but I don't think it would be bad for you. Now, granted, if you went up by 2,000 calories all of a sudden, thats strange, but only a few hundred shouldnt matter.

when i work with guys trying to gain weight, we're more successfull when they increase by roughly 300 at a time. when we increased by more than that, say more than 500, it was too much. it would sometimes cause stomach discomfort or it was simply too many calories when less was needed.

Well I've used tons of these online calculator things and such, and the maintanence for my weight / activity level is 2500, so I'm going to stick with that. Hope it works out >.>

As far as the calorie calculators, make sure they have activity level in there as a factor... has a decent calculator on their site... they have two on there, just make sure it's the one that ahs activity level in it... and for themost part, remember, it's an ESTIMATE of your caloric intake...
