in need of advice

Hello, I was just need some advice.

My mum is 50plus, her BMI results shows that she is under obese.
She has been taking medication for her high blood pressure and cholesterol.
Recently, her X-ray results shown mild cardiomegaly. From what I know, she is in high risk of getting a heart attack or stroke anytime.
I have been on a diet and I tried to help her change her diet. She refuse to eat meals I make as she didn't like them and she thinks that the way I'm eating is self torture. I don't know what else I could do rather than being worried of her health. I've been so worried I'm unable to study for my exams.

She listens to the doctors though right? Perhaps a doctor of sorts could tell her what to eat?

Also, I must say that it's extremely hard to change your eating habits overnight. I mean the problem is she's probably been eating unhealthy for a large part of her life. So breaking that habit is really hard.

I know its family, but sometimes you have to let people make their own decisions. keep hounding her, sure...but you need to live your own life (i.e. study for exams) and let her be.

That said, are you living off fish and sprouts, or do you make your healthy meals tastey and fun? If you're feel you might be a bit 'bland' you should look at Gourmet Nutrition v2.0 by John Berardi. its a great cookbook that is creative, healthy, and tasty.
