How often do you eat such unhealthy food as: chips, aerated water?
Almost everybody knows that such food is harmful… But unfortunately we eat it anyway. As for me, it is tasty but I try to limit such food. So how often do you eat it?

If you are talking fast food such as McDonalds, Burger King, etc. I NEVER eat it. It is just a personal choice. I have been really trying hard to live the healthy lifestyle.

That being said I do allow myself a treat every now and again. Sometimes it is some ice cream, sometimes a nice cold beer. It could be fast food if I wanted too, but I really don't have a desire to eat it anymore.

You can do it every once in a while but make sure you account for it in your overall caloric intake. I personally would not eat it more than once or twice a month.

Fast food or unhealthy food or both? Honestly it just depends.

I rarely eat fast food like McDonalds, etc. Maybe once a month, if that.

"Unhealthy" foods is so wide open to interpretation, that I can't really answer. Some people consider diet soda unhealthy, but I have one in the afternoons probably 3-4 times a week. I drink coffee every morning. I had baked Lays last night with my dinner (1 serving - 120 cals). I will have margaritas and chips and salsa with friends on Friday (my one "free" meal this week).

Does that give you any answer?

Basically the same as TrumpetGuy, I have not eaten at a place such as BK for many months. Because of some family & friends b-days we have eaten at a couple other places. But I make sure to document everything I eat/drink on my fitday asap. If I know we will be doing such early enough I will try to be better the day before and the day of the event.
(example, last night the family went to CiCi's Pizza for my niece. Ouch! Those calories/fat/carbs hurt. But I knew early enough that hopefully it won't hurt my weekly/monthly goal.)

For my "treats" & "cheats" I have been making a homemade icee.... crushed/shaved ice with fresh fruit. Last night was w/watermelon. Yummy and refreshing w/temps in the upper 90's
A wide variety of fruits can be added. I also sometimes slip in a small amount of veggie when I am needing more of those; similar to those you see on the "bullet express" commercials.

I use to eat fast food atleast twice per week but no more. Subway`s Veggie Delight or any other low fat sub is our choice now. I know I sure feel better not scarfing a Big Mac anymore.

I have some diet soda every day..... (bad as it has sweeteners in it) but ass far as junk food goes. Nope! I used to eat alot of the low calorie junk foods/refined foods (same thing to me) like flavored rice cakes, zero fat biscuit bars and low calorie hot chocolate. But cut it all out. It took me a while but feels so much better as a result as I am not so worried about any adverse effects. Both my grand parents on my dad's side died of cancer so that does scare me.

I also used to have a very bad eating disorder (as in put in hospital bad) and have maintained a love of fresh fruit and veg (to be honest they are one of the few foods that don't scare me) so just eat alot of them (minus extra sweet fruit such as mango and also minus starchy veg like parsnips, sweetcorn and potato). I like what I eat and as I eat enough calories I have no room for junk food! I don't want to get any bigger then the 70KG I already am and see junk food as a one way ticket to 100kg for me!

About a month ago, I was eating fast food anywhere from two to four times a week. My mom was doing a lot of business trips for work, and never had groceries in the house, so since I didn't have a car to transport groceries, I'd just walk up to the nearest fast food place and get myself something to eat. I gained a loooot of weight doing that, lmao.

Nowadays though I'm trying to cut back. Like, to once a week. And then hopefully to like once or twice a month. D:

Stuff like junk food and soda are really hard to cut back on... I'm like halfway addicted to Hot Fries and like, well, anything with caffeine in it. It's hard, and kinda painful with the caffeine headaches I get from cutting back, but I'm trying my best.

Rarely since the end of January. I have had a couple of slices of pizza and half a kebab in that time.

I haven't eaten fast food since January and don't regret it at all. I enjoy eating real food much more now.

If I get a craving for burgers I make burgers. If I want Mexican food I make it or go to Chipotle, not Taco Bell. I know not everyone has the luxury, but I don't mind spending a little more time and money to feed myself anymore. I realize how important that is.

I hope that's not just for diet reasons, because there are healthy no calorie ways to get caffeine as well.

Me? heh way too often but I do try to balance it out.

course with the stalling in my weight loss, starting to really relook at what I eat again.

I cut fast food out of my life completely and don't ever want to eat anything that's deep fried, ever! a week ago I was at the hospital all day visiting a sick family member and the only food option was fast food, this was at night driving back home and I couldn't even distinguish what I was eating!

As for empty calories, I let myself have that once a day. Stuff like Jell-o mousse that's 60 calories but not really nutritious. Usually a few times a month I'll also have a Hershey bar, 210 ten calories though it has some calcium it's not really healthy.

So far I'm still loosing weight, in my experience completely cutting out some junk out of your diet makes the whole loosing weight process harder. So I let myself have something. :) After all, this is how I will continue eating for the rest of my life, just the calorie intake will increase after I hit goal but not by junk!

I just went to McDonalds with my daughter today while we were out shopping. I had a salad, a packet of fresh apple slices and a yoghurt with fruit on the top. I enjoyed it just as much as if I'd had a burger and chips with a fraction of the calories.

If I'm out and forget to take a snack with me, I'll find a taco bell and order a steak fresco soft taco. I stay away from all the other fast food chains since the "healthy" options they offer quite frankly are not.

I am actually a fan of the Taco Bell Fresco offerings. If my man wants to have fast food, I'll pick up whatever he wants and then I'll swing by Taco Bell and pick up myself something.

(From Taco Bell's website)
*Fresco Burrito Supreme

Steak: 33cal, 8g Fat

*Fresco Soft Taco

I limit myself to once, MAYBE twice a month that I'll get something from there. I am usually really on top of packing a snack for when I'm out and about. If I'm out during lunchtime, I'll find a Subway!

I have givin up pizza and burgers. it was hard but I had to. I just couldnt get myself to eat it in moderation.

the only food i do now is 6 inch subs from subway maybe 1 time a month. they have sandwiches for like 300 calories.

I generally avoid taking fast food as its not healthy, but still when i feel like having, I prefer once in a month, not more than that.

Interestingly enough, Penn and Teller tackled Fast Food in this week's episode of Bull(you know the rest). It was against the stigma of fast food being attacked. They didn't say you should eat it alot or such but they addressed the attacks on the industry itself. They did an interesting test. The first one was they took KFC food (chicken, corn, gravy, etc) and created a 'Southwesten' soup that was supposedly made in a California bistro. On a scale of 1 being fast food and 10 being high end, most rated between 7-10.

The one that was even more telling for us is they took a Taco Bell taco salad, calorie count of 970, and gave it to two different groups. One group they said it was from Taco Bell. The other group they said came from a bistro with a healthy sounding name (it was California Green Bistro or something like that). After, they asked seperately the calorie count. Those who was told it was Taco Bell was really close with between 850-1000 calories. The others who thought it was from a healthy place was around 300-450.

I thought it was interesting.
